THE EFFECTS OF FAMILY BACKGROUND, PRACTICUM ACTIVITIES AT THE
SCHOOL PRODUCTION UNIT, AND INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP
ACHIEVEMENTS ON THE ENTREPRENEURIAL READINESS OF GRADE XII STUDENTS OF PUBLIC VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 1 KEBUMEN IN THE 2015/2016 ACADEMIC YEAR RISANG PURNAWAN NUGRAHANTO 09404244051 ABSTRACT This study aimed to find out the effects of: (1) family backgrounds on the entrepreneurial readiness, (2) practicum activities at the school production unit on the entrepreneurial readiness, (3) industrial internship achievements on the entrepreneurial readiness, and (4) family backgrounds, practicum activities at the school production unit, and industrial internship achievements. The research subjects were Grade XII students with a total of 191 students from the expertise programs of Software Engineering, Multimedia, Accounting, Office Administration, and marketing. The data were collected through questionnaires and documentation. The validity was assessed by the product moment analysis technique and the reliability by the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Test of analysis assumptions included tests of multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and normality. The hypotheses were tested by multiple regression analysis, the t-test (partial) and the F-test (simultaneous). The results of the study were as follows. (1) There was a significant positive effect of the family backgrounds on the entrepreneurial readiness. This was indicated by t observed = 9.639 > t table = 1.973 at a significance level of 5 %. (2) There was a significant positive effect of the practicum activities at the school production unit on the entrepreneurial readiness. This was indicated by t observed = 1.608 > t table = 1.973 at a significance level of 5%. (3) There was no significant effect of the industrial internship achievement on the entrepreneurial readiness. This was indicated by t observe = 0.954 < t table = 1.913 at a significance level of 5%. (4) There was a significant positive effect of the family backgrounds, practicum activities at the school production unit, and industrial internship achievements as an aggregate on the entrepreneurial readiness.
