Dear distinguished colleagues,

Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Anestesiologi dan Terapi Intensif Indonesia Cabang DKI Jakarta
(Perdatin Jaya) and Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) are excited to present
the Indoanesthesia Meeting 2018. This event will be held on February 21-24, 2018 in Jakarta,
Indonesia. The Pre-Congress Workshops will be held on February 21-23, 2018 in Cipto
Mangunkusumo General Hospital and Shangri-La Hotel - Jakarta while the Symposium will
be held on February 22-24, 2018 in Shangri-La Hotel - Jakarta.

This Indoanesthesia Meeting would like to highlight recent advances, including techniques,
knowledge, and researches, in the area of anesthesia. Medicine always continues to evolve
with the development of new equipment, algorithms, drugs and adaptation of new concepts.
As the health professionals, we must practice with updated knowledge and training. Through
this meeting, we wish the workshops, lectures, and discussions will be worthwhile for the
participants and academic community and we are honored to have you with us next year.

Next year's collaboration has created a whole another level of excitement in this meeting. We
have invited many distinguished speakers who excel at their areas of expertise and working
groups to share their knowledge and experience in anesthesia.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all future participants, financial
sponsors, exhibitors, and all the committee members who will make this Indoanesthesia
Meeting 2018 successful. With these strong supports, we are sure that this meeting will be
beneficial and fruitful to all the participants. Thank you and see you in Jakarta.

SAFE (SAFE ANAESTHESIA FROM EDUCATION) OBSTETRIC ANAESTHESIA COURSE

February, 21-23, 2018

Objective:
To provide refresher training for both anesthesiologist and anesthetist in the essentials of obstetric Anesthe-
sia in resource limited countries. It is not intended as a comprehensive training course in Anesthesia, but
emphasises basic principles, vigilance and competence in essential skills.

The aim of the SAFE Obstetric Anaesthesia course is to provide refresher training for anaesthesiologists in the
essentials of obstetric anaesthesia in resource limited countries. It is widely known that major causes of
maternal death are hemorrhage, sepsis, and pre-eclampsia/eclampsia. Therefore, access to safe surgery and
anesthesia is an essential requirement in the management of these complications.

The SAFE Obstetric Anaesthesia Course is a three-day course, to be held on February 21-23, 2018, addressing
the major causes of maternal death, important skills in obstetric anaesthesia and immediate resuscitation of
the newborn. It includes seven brief lectures, with the rest of the course run as modular breakout sessions.
The participants are divided into four pre-allocated small groups and the groups rotate around four sessions
for each course module.

There will be a ToT course on February 24, 2018 for selected participants those who had performed best
during the course, were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Everyone who attends the SAFE Obstetric Anaes-
thesia Course as well as the ToT course will receive a certificate of attendance.

Learning about the challenges that the anesthesiologists have to overcome on obstetric care would generate
better sense of care. Through this course we hoper that the participants will focus more on patient safety and
encourage them to rely on the basic clinical skills when managing obstetric emergencies.

Abstract Submission and E-poster Presentation
The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite submission of abstracts to be presented at the 15th Indoanesthesia 2018.

E- Poster Participant
1. This competition is open to all students (Graduates, Post Graduates and Research Scholars not above the age of 35).
2. Presenters who do not wish to participate or those who are not eligible for the competition are also welcome to
present their poster at the conference.
3. The abstract submission deadline for poster competition will be closed one month before the conference date (this is
subject to change), hence all are requested to submit their abstracts well in advance.
4. The abstract should include complete details of the contestant (e.g., abstract title, name, affiliation, abstract and biog-
raphy etc).
5. Abstracts have to be submitted through online or by email to indoanestesia@gmail.com. Shortlisted abstracts for the
competition will be intimated through email and those will be displayed on the website as well.
6. If the registered author/poster presenter is unable to attend the conference he/she may send a substitute who can be
a co-author (or) any member from the same institution. If the winner is a substitute, he/she will be awarded and not
the registered author/contestant.
7. Opportunity for young researchers to learn about the research areas of their peers to increase their capacity as multi-
disciplinary researchers.
8. All shortlisted poster presenters have to be registered for the symposium before the deadline of abstract submission.

General Guidelines
1. The format of the E-poster must be JPEG format, portrait, resolution 1920x1080. Your file must be compatible with a

convey more information than text, and should cover not more than 50% of the poster area
4. The title of the poster should be in capital letters
5. The name of the author/researcher without any academic title
6. Use 2 columns in the poster
7. Use a constant font throughout the poster
8. The systematic layout consists of :
- Introduction : the background of your study/case report and the objective/aims/hypothesis
- Methodology (for research study)
- Result
- Brief discussion
- Conclusion : should directly address or answers the objective/aims/hypothesis
- References

There will be a short oral presentation of your poster to be presented at determined time (see the schedule time) during
the official Eposter discussion. Each presentation should not exceed 5 minutes’
Submitter may provide handouts of your abstract / poster (with your addresses) to your interested readers, it may facili-
tate future research communication.
E-poster will be displayed on February 22-24, 2018 start from 08.00 - 17.00.
The winner will be announced after lunch symposium on February 24, 2018.
