Movie Analysis: Peaceful Warrior (2006)

The film 'peaceful warrior' is a master peace direction of Victor Salva and involves a theme of
fighting all odds to make a history for oneself. The screenplay of the movie is written by Kevin
Bernhardt and is based on the novel of Dan Milman. The movie is well directed and various
aspects of the different phases of an individual are well documented.

Storyline: (It needs paraphrasing)

Dan Millman has it all: good grades, a shot at the Olympic team on the rings and girls lining up
for the handsome Berkely college athlete all teams mates look up to with envy. Only one man
shakes his confidence, an anonymous night gas station attendant, who like Socrates, keeps
questioning every assumption in his life. Then a traffic crash shatters Dan's legs and his bright
future. Now Socrates's life coaching is to make or break Dan's revised ambition.

It is an obligation of the society in the US under normative ethic principle to understand the
complexity and severity of income inequality issue. The liberal and capitalist economy of United
States allows each citizen liberty to accumulate capital through various earning mechanism, but
it does not mean that each individual of the society has equal opportunity to earn. As per an
article in Deloitte Insights, top 10% of the US population has 47% of the national income share,
whereas the bottom 50% has 13% of total income (Bachman, 2017). The disadvantageous
position of poor within the society can be improved with the increasing role of the business
community through corporate social responsibility and increasing role of reinvestment in the
society.
