TABLE B.1 BP AMOCO MINIMUM CASING DESIGN FACTORS

DESIGN CRITERIA
Service Loads Casings

• Tension 1.4

• Burst 1.0

• Collapse 1.0

• Triaxial 1.25

Note: Casing Wear to be considered based on specific well program.

Triaxial analysis required for all designs.
Applicable to seamless pipe with nominal material yield of 125ksi or lower.
A collapse DF of 1.1 is recommended for casings with 10<D/t <12.
It is expected that any dispensations will in general be based on a critical review
of expected loadings and the risks and mitigations in their control; not on accepting
a reduction in DF.
Tension DF is applied to yield of both pipe body and connection critical cross section.
Refer to Drilling and Well Operations Policy for Mandatory Loads.

Notes: (1) In cases where a significant section is to be drilled below the production casing well control considerations should be designed for
(see Intermediate Casing); in most cases, the production scenario will be more severe.

(2) In cases where a significant numder of rotating hours are anticipated in drilling below the production casing shoe, the effects of
casing wear should be considered.
