Corrosion model
During the initial years after ship’s delivery, as
coating condition is good, there is no corrosion Corrosion starts from this point

Corrosion analysis
• Corrosion Additions
– Diminution at 90% cumulative probability for 25 years
– Reserve thickness of 0.5 mm added to obtain total wastage
allowance:
• Approximately corresponds to corrosion diminution at 95%
cumulative probability for 25 years

Welding
Fillet welds scantlings requirements
• The scantlings of fillet welds in CSR-H are based on the
as-built thickness of the abutting member
• The gap in welds is limited to 2.0 mm.
• Minimum weld size criteria similar to CSR-OT are
adopted
• Welding in “highly stressed areas” is a topic of high
importance and covers:
• Areas with high tensile stresses or areas considered critical full or partial
penetration welds shall be used
• A list of critical locations where full penetration welds are mandatory
• Scantling criteria for fillet welds subject to high tensile/shear loads

Principles and renewal criteria
Minimum survey requirements given in URZ10.2, Z10.4 and
Z10.5
Corrosion allowance concept during operation life:
• Principle : Assessment against new building (NB)
requirements not necessary, as same tc used for NB design (net
scantling approach) and ships in operation
