PRIMEDIC™ defibrillator or doing service.
These service instructions are intended to assist you
in your crucial work.
Before you start work, we as the manufacturers of this
unit urgently recommend that you refer to the unit's
operating instructions to inform yourself of how the
unit that you are about to service or repair functions
and is operated!
Please read the manual carefully!
Follow the instructions when working!
It is essential that you follow the safety instructions!

3.2 Safety instructions for your protection / Sicherheitshinweise zu

Do not test the unit
- in the presence of flammable agents (e.g.
petroleum, ether or similar)
- in an atmosphere enriched with oxygen or
with flammable gases / vapours
- if it is defective (e.g. paddle cable damaged)
When carrying out service work on a unit that is ready
for operation, there is a risk of potentially lethal
electric shocks and burn injury.
Remove any electrically conductive jewellery such as
chains, bracelets or rings before carrying out any
work!
If necessary, inform your staff that service work is
being carried out and point out any resulting hazards!
Perform all work extremely conscientiously!
Never repair damaged modules or individual parts,
instead replace them with the manufacturer's original
spare parts!
Carry out all work as described in this service manual!
Do not approve the unit for operation unless it is
undamaged and fully functional, all technical safety
checks can be performed and have been performed,
and you have completely filled in and signed the
inspection protocol!

Bei Service-Arbeiten am betriebsbereiten Gerät
besteht für Sie die Gefahr eines lebensbedrohlichen
Stromschlages und die Gefahr von Verbrennungen.
Legen Sie elektrisch leitfähigen Schmuck wie z. B.
Ketten, Armbänder oder Ringe vor der Durchführung
der Arbeiten ab!
Informieren Sie ggf. Ihre Mitarbeiter über die
Durchführung der Service-Tätigkeiten und über die
dabei bestehenden Gefahren!
Führen Sie alle Arbeiten äußerst gewissenhaft durch!
Reparieren Sie keinesfalls beschädigte Baugruppen
oder Einzelteile, sondern ersetzen Sie diese gegen
Original-Ersatzteile des Herstellers!
Führen Sie alle Arbeiten entsprechend den
Beschreibungen dieses Service-Handbuches durch!
Geben Sie das Gerät erst dann für den Betrieb frei,
wenn es unbeschädigt und voll funktionsfähig ist, alle
wiederkehrenden sicherheitstechnischen Kontrollen
durchführbar sind und durchgeführt wurden und Sie

2,2 K Ohm / 50 W.

To reactivate a full discharged NiCd accumulator
follow this instructions:
Set the limit of an external DC-power supply to 15 Volt
/ 250 mA
Put the accumulator into the AkuPak-adapter.
Connect +15V to + connection and GND to GND
connection of the AkuPak-adapter (Abbildung 5.2)
Charge the Accumulator for 5-10 minutes
Reset the accumulator as show below (5.3 How to
reset the AkuPak/Reset am AkuPak durchführen)
Now charge the accumulator with the Primedic
PowerPak or internal in your DefiMoitor XD
If the accumulator can not be reactivated with this
procedure you have to change it

The disassembling and assembling descriptions
below inform you how to remove and reinstalling
circuit boards and modules of the unit. The sequence
of descriptions is not specific and is selected
corresponding to a repair down to the final circuit
board.
Before starting any repairs consider which sequence
is most appropriate for disassembly and assembly.
7.1 Changing the printer and the printer controller circuit board /

Die nachfolgenden Demontage- und Montage-
Beschreibungen informieren Sie über die
Arbeitsabläufe zum Aus- und W iedereinbau von
Platinen bzw. Modulen des Gerätes. Die Reihenfolge
der Beschreibungen ist unbestimmt und so gewählt,
wie es einer Reparatur bis zur letzten Platine
entspricht.
Bei jeder Reparatur ist vor Beginn zu überlegen,
welche Reihenfolge bei der Demontage bzw. Montage
sinnvoll ist.
Der Drucker und die Drucker-Controllerplatine des
DefiMonitor XD kann ohne Öffnen des Gehäuses

abgeschnittene Leitung auf der gegenüberliegenden
Seite des Kabels direkt am Stecker abschneiden.
Achtung: keine Änderung am rechten Kabel.

7.2 Opening the housing / Gehäuse öffnen

Remove the paddles, adhesive electrodes and the
SpO2 sensor
Place the unit on its front at a soft underlay so that
the display window cannot be damaged during repair
work.
Unscrew the seven screws from the rear panel. (Note
that one screw is covered by the warranty seal)
Use a sharp knife to cut the seal on the underside at
the marked points so that it is not torn apart when the
rear panel is removed.
The housing rear panel can now be removed along
with the carrying handle
7.3 Replacing the handle / Haltegriff tauschen
Before being screwed to the housing, the handle was
also bonded using hot adhesive. It may therefore be

 Schließen Sie den Entladewiderstand
mindestens zwei Sekunden an die
Kontaktfahnen des Kondensators an.
 Prüfen Sie die zur Sicherheit noch einmal den
Ladezustand des Kondensators durch
Messung nach. Der Kondensator ist erst
entladen, wenn das Messgerät eine
Spannung von U< 1V beträgt.

7.16 Replacing the SpO2 module / SpO2 Modul tauschen

manufacturer and replaced by a new circuit board!

 7.19 Replace the microphone / Mikrofon austauschen
The main circuit board inlet may not be removed until
the microphone cable has been carefully detached
from the cable guides.
Attention:
Risk of damaging the microphone.
Note: Maybe there are differences between the
microphone types. Choose a suitable kind of fixing for
each kind of microphone.
When removing the inlet, carefully guide the
microphone cable through the hole. W hen doing this,
place as little stress as possible on the solder points
on the microphone.

 7.21 Replacing the display / Display austauschen

7.23 Replacing the housing seal / Gehäusedichtung tauschen

Cut the new silicone seal to the length of the old one

kompatible Folientastatur als Ersatzteil schicken.

Beachten Sie den Unterschied der „AUTO/MAN“ bzw.

Um die Folientastatur auszutauschen, muss die
Hauptplatine ausgebaut werden.
After the unit has been disassembled and the main
circuit board removed, the membrane keypad can be
carefully removed from the front of the housing.
It is recommended to remove the release key
completely so that the membrane keypad can be
removed by pressing without damaging the housing.
After the membrane keypad has been removed at one
point, it can be completely removed by using pliers.
If necessary, the membrane keypad and adhesive
residues can be removed more easily by heating with
a warm air fan carefully.
Clean the bonding surface of the housing and rub off
adhesive residues from the housing.
Attention:
When using solvents, it is essential to test their
compatibility with the plastic inside the housing first.
Nachdem das Gerät zerlegt wurde und die
Hauptplatine ausgebaut wurde, kann die Folientatatur
vorsichtig vom Vorderteil des Gehäuses abgezogen
werden.
Da zum lösen des Massekabels eine Schraube der
Auslösetaste-Platine herusgederht werden muss,
empfiehlt sich der komplette Ausbau der
Auslösetaste, damit die Folientastatur durch drücken
von hinten ohne Beschädigung des Gehäuses gelöst
werden kann.
Nachdem die Folientastatur an einer Stelle gelöst
wurde, kann sie mit Hilfe einer Zange vollständig
entfernt werden.
Ggf. lassen sich die Folientastatur und die
Klebstoffrückstände durch vorsichtiges Erhitzen mit
einem Warmluftgebläse leichter entfernen.
Reinigen Sie die Klebefläche des Gehäuses und
reiben Sie Rückstände des Klebers vom Gehäuse ab.
Achtung:
Bei der Verwendung von Lösungsmittel unbedingt
vorher die Verträglichkeit mit dem Kunststoff im
Inneren des Gehäuses testen.
Put the ribbon cable of the membrane keypad through
the slot in the housing.
Seal hole with silicone.
Put the earth cable of the membrane keypad through
the slot in the housing and stick on the membrane
keypad.
Seal hole with silicone.
Attention:
Press the membrane keypad onto the housing around
the keys, but do not press on the keys!
7.27 Closing the housing / Gehäuse schließen

7.28 Testing the DefiMonitor XD / Prüfen des DefiMonitor XD
After the unit has been repaired it must be tested in
accordance with the testing instruction 6.2 PA73503.
After a successful final test a new warranty seal must
be applied and, if necessary, the mains connecting
socket pressed into the housing.
After the final test:
Apply a new warranty seal on the back of the unit.

Zustand und korrekten Sitz der Umlaufdichtung
kontrollieren.
Nachdem das Gerät repariert und wieder
zusammengesetzt wurde, muss das Gerät gemäß
Prüfanweisung 6.2 PA73503 geprüft werden.
Nach erfolgreicher Endprüfung muss ein neues
Garantiesiegel aufgeklebt werden und ggf. die
Netzanschlussbuchse in das Gehäuse eingedrückt
werden.
Nach der Endprüfung:
Kleben Sie auf der Rückseite des Geräts ein neues
Garantiesiegel an die Stelle des alten Siegels.
