COLDSTREAM DAY – 7 MAY 2016

1. Coldstream Day will be held at Victoria Barracks, Windsor on Saturday 7 May 2016. The aim
of the day is to strengthen the bonds between all elements of the Regiment, serving and veteran
Coldstreamers and their families, through the medium of a fun packed day suitable for all the
family.

2. The day will begin at 1200 and end at 1700. Members of the Coldstream Guards Association
should have their TCGA membership cards with them. The Regimental Sergeant Major has very
kindly agreed that veterans may use his mess after the event but those not who do not want to
should be clear of Barracks by 1800.

3. A free buffet lunch of pulled pork and salad will be available from 1200 – 1400 in the
marquee where a fully stocked cash bar will also be available until 1645. The PRI Shop will also
be sited in the marquee. From 1600 Sodexo, the Battalion caterers, will provide an afternoon tea
(Scones, Cakes etc) for which a charge will be made with proceeds going to the Stop Hunger
charity.

4. The Regimental band will play at intervals throughout the afternoon and will close the day
with a marching display culminating with the Last Post and Sunset. The 2nd Bn 1815 Living
History Group (the Re-enactors) will set up their camp in the area of the Sergeants’ Mess.

5. Other village fete type stalls such as Splat the Rat, a Coconut Shy and Bobbing for Apples will
be erected on or near the Battalion green, there will be a regimental history quiz, TCGA Branch
Stalls and a children’s corner. A number of static military equipment stands and demonstrations
(GPMG, Mortar, Anti Tank, Sniper, Jungle Warfare, Recruiting, Communications) will be
operating. A shooting competition will be held throughout the afternoon in the indoor range.

5. Running alongside these static stands throughout the afternoon will be a programme of active
events which will take place on the Battalion square:

Windsor Castle Guard Mount demonstration with 1st Bn & the re-enactors
Pace Sticking demonstration
Corps of Drums display
1815 tactical formations demonstration
Sunset Ceremony by Regimental Band
5. There will be no space for parking in Barracks and therefore coaches and cars will be directed
to a central parking area which is about 200 metres from Barracks for which a parking permit will
be required. Members of the The Coldstream Guards Association can obtain this from their
Branch Secretaries but non-Association members should telephone Regimental Headquarters
(0207 414 3246)

6. Those who have requested disabled parking can either be dropped off at the Barracks gates and
walk the short distance from the gate to the green or they should park in the central parking area (a
parking permit will be required – see para 5 above) and use the shuttle transport which will be
operating between the parking area and barracks. This shuttle service will run in the opposite
direction every 30 minutes or so from about 1530 onwards. A parking permit will be required (see
para 5 above).

7. A programme and a plan of the layout of stands/stalls will be produced by the Battalion and
will be available on the day.

7. In the event of wet weather static stands will relocate to the gym and depending on the nature
of the weather a decision will taken on whether to adjust or cancel the events on the square.

8. Toilet facilities for men, women and disabled will be found in various locations in the
Barracks. Medical attendants from St John Ambulance will be located in the Victoria Barracks
Medical Centre and a cash point is situated in the NAAFI.

9. A lot of hard work has already gone into the planning of this day so please come along and
support the Regiment. I look forward to seeing you all at Windsor on 7 May 2016.
