1. Tell us about yourself and your professional experience as it relates to this position.

2. Describe your experience with meeting the due process demands (IEP’s, Evaluations, timelines, etc.) of
a special education teacher. Have you ever been out of compliance as a case manager? If so, why?

3. Tell us about your familiarity with CPI. Are you trained in it? Have you ever needed to use it?

4. How would you structure your program to decrease challenging behaviors?

5. Do you have experience supervising paraprofessionals and what guidance do you believe is necessary
for paraprofessionals working under your supervision and how would you provide that guidance?

6. How would you establish and maintain good communication with the parents of your students?

7. Have you ever taught social skills at the elementary level? If so, what curriculum or programs did you
use?

8. Tell us about a time you had a defiant student. How did you handle the situation?

9. How would you measure your success and effectiveness as an EBD teacher?

10. Describe how you would handle the following scenario: A student is refusing to do his work and his
behavior is escalating to the point that he becomes physically aggressive. What would you do?

11. What would you do if an upset student ran from your classroom and hid from you? What would you do
if an upset student ran from your classroom and left school property?

12. You have several students with challenging behaviors in your classroom for the whole day. One of your
students tries to instigate another and get her in trouble. What would you do to address this situation.

13. How would you address academic needs of your students if they perform at the different levels and
some of them are in the different grades?

14. What part of the job of an EBD teacher do you feel you need to improve on the most and why?

15. Tell us about the support you would expect or need from administration.
