III Union Home Minister launches Online Analytical Tool to monitor foreign contributions under FCRA.To
facilitate closer monitoring of the flow and utilization of foreign contributions received by various organizations
registered or permitted under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), 2010. This web-based tool enables
decision-makers in various Departments of Government to scrutinize source of foreign funds and their actual use in
India. Nearly 25,000 active organizations have been registered under The FCRA, 2010. Each FCRA-NGO performs
several financial transactions in receiving and spending foreign contribution.

V the Minister for Woman and Child Development (MCWD) launched India’s first Advanced Forensic Lab in
Chandigarh. Built by MCWD and Ministry of Home Affairs. The lab is called ‘Sakhi Suraksha Advanced DNA
Forensic Laboratory’. Capacity of Chandigarh lab will be increased to 2000 cases per year from 160. 5 other labs
would come up in: Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Pune , Bhopal. These 6 labs the capacity to 50000 cases/year. The
labs in Chennai and Mumbai would be set up with funds from the MWCD and the rest would be funded by the
Home Ministry. The labs are categorized to 4 units: a. Sexual Assault and Homicide Unit, b. Paternity Unit, c.
Human Identification Unit, d. Mitochondrial Unit.

VI Government introduces new scheme ‘Seva Bhoj Yojna’ for charitable institutions (All religion temples existing
for 5 years before grant) to reimburse IGST and CGST & reduce financial burden – should serve 5000 people/month
– under Societies Registration Act and under Income Tax Act (under section 10 (23BBA)). The eligible institutions
must be registered with the Darpan Portal. a committee will be constituted and would examine the applicants within
4 weeks of registration.

VII Unemployed graduated youth of Andhra Pradesh to get monthly allowance of Rs.1000. 10 lakh youth in the
state. Upper age Limit 35.

VIII Andhra CM launches 3rd year of Chandranna Bima Yojana in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. first launched on
2nd October 2016. Aam Admi Bima Yojana, Pradhana Manthri Jeevana Jyothi Bima Yojana, Pradhana Mantri
Suraksha Bima Yojana and the Individual Accident Bima Policy of the State government are a part of this insurance
scheme. nearly 2.5 crores labourers in the unorganized sector will benefit from this scheme. from 18 to 70 years of
age get insurance of Rs. 5 lakh for accidental death, up to Rs. 2.50 lakh for temporary disability due to accident and
up to Rs. 5 lakh for permanent disability due to accident. aged between 18 to 50 years will receive Rs. 2 lakh and
beneficiaries aged between 51 to 59 years will receive Rs. 30,000 in case of natural death. Labours of unorganized
sector with monthly income Rs. 15,000 are eligible for this scheme.

X Haryana to have 15 new one-stop centres for women affected by violence. there are 7 OSCs in some districts in
Haryana and approval has been granted for 15 more OSCs . OSCs are : Karnal, Bhiwani, Gurugram , Faridabad,
Hisar, Rewari and Narnual. he services would include : police assistance, medical aid, psycho social counseling,
legal aid and temporary stay for 5 days. OSC funded by the Nirbhaya Fund.

XI The First biannual Indian Air Force Commanders’ Conference was inaugurated by Defence Minister at Air
Headquarters in New Delhi. Minister of State for Defence Dr Subhash Bhamre, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa were
among those who were present at the conference. He Exercise ‘Gagan Shakti’ was mentioned as the landmark
exercise for IAF. The two-day conference discussed operational, maintenance and administrative takeaways
identified during the Exercise and the way ahead.

XII Facebook Ties-Up with National Women Commission (NWC) to Launch Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) in
collaboration with the Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF). Cyber Peace Foundation is a Ranchi, Jharkhand-based civil
society organisation involved in training related to all aspects of cyber security.

XV Modi launched three Indian digital payment systems - RuPay, BHIM app and UPI by SBI at the 'Business,
Innovation and Community Event' in Singapore. India's RuPay digital payments system was linked up with
Singapore's 33-year old Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS). The move will enable RuPay users to make
payments at all of NETS acceptance points across Singapore.

XXI Income Tax Department issued Revised Income Tax Informants Reward Scheme, 2018 for public participation
in unearthing black money. This has replaced the reward scheme issued in 2007. a person upon giving specific
information about tax evasion to the Investigation Directorate of the IT department can be rewarded up to Rs. 50
lakhs. reward of up to Rs. 5 crores would be given to people who would provide precise information about the black
money tugged away in the foreign countries by individuals that come under Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign
Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act, 2015. Foreigners are also eligible for this scheme.

XXII New Benami Transactions Informants Reward Scheme, 2018 launched by the Income Tax Department. Under
the Benami Transactions Informants Reward Scheme, 2018, a person can receive reward up to Rs. 1 crores for
offering specific information in prescribed manner to the Joint or Additional Commissioners of Benami Prohibition
Units (BPUs) in Investigation Directorates of Income Tax Department. The information should be related to benami
transactions and properties and proceeds from properties that are actionable under Benami Property Transactions
Act, 1988, as amended by Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Amendment Act, 2016. Foreigners are also eligible to
receive reward.

IV President inaugurates 73 km long National Highway in Tripura on June 7. This national highway will connect

Special Economic Zones (SEZ) policy of the country and suggest measures to make it more relevant for exporters

incentives to investors, but investments in the zone were subsequently brought under the ambit of Minimum

XIII Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) to India decreased to 40 billion dollars last year from 44 billion dollars in 2016
while outflows from India, the main source of investment in South Asia, more than doubled, according to a new
trade report by the UN. According to the World Investment Report, 2018 by the UN Conference on Trade and
Development (UNCTAD) global foreign direct investment flows fell by 23 percent in 2017, to USD 1.43 trillion
from USD 1.87 trillion in 2016.

XIV On 6th June 2018, Myanmar and U.N. agencies signed a MoU for the eventual return of some of the 700,000
Rohingya Muslims who fled from Myanmar due to brutal attacks of Mynamar’s security forces and have camped
now in Bangladesh. Knut Ostby, U.N. Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Myanmar, has said that, this
agreement is an important first step in resolving this issue. The agreement offers its refugee and development
agencies access to Rakhine state.

XVII RBI eases GST registered MSME repayment norms for 180 days till December 31st 2018. RBI announced a
relaxation of 180 days for MSMEs who are not classified as ‘Non-Performing’.
1. MSMEs which were standard as on August 31, 2017, shall continue to be classified as standard by banks and
NBFCs if the payments due as on September 1, 2017, and falling due thereafter up to December 31, 2018,
were paid not later than 180 days from their original due date .
2. Banks and NBFCs have to typically classify a loan as a non-performing asset if the repayment has been
delayed beyond 90 days.
3. This has been done as a result of the effect of GST on the small and medium enterprises.
4. After January 2019 the rules will fall back to the normal 90 day regime for the GST registered MSMEs.

XVIII World Bank projects Indonesian economy to grow 5.2%.


i. This projection is more than the Indonesian government’s projection of 5.18 %.
ii. World Bank has said that private consumption and investment would strengthen. World Bank country director for
Indonesia, Rodrigo A Chaves said that, the investment growth is still high, considering the increasing prices of
commodities.
iii. He also said that, the global economy would face a slower growth due to tightening monetary conditions.

XIX India cricket captain Virat Kohli will be presented the Polly Umrigar Award for the best international

XXV Mithali Raj became the first Indian cricketer to score 2000 runs in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I). Mithali
