Friday , 03 December 2010

At least 40 IDF Prison Service officers were killed in the worst bushfire in
Israel's history Thursday after their bus burned down near Haifa, Israel's third
largest city. Several other people were injured. 13,000 people had been
forced to flee their homes in northern Israel.
The blaze, caused by strong winds pushing the flames westwards, had
destroyed hundreds of hectares of land and was still not under control.
Foreign firefighting aircraft began landing at the Ramat Aviv military airport in
northern Israel, with two planes from Greece and Bulgaria already on the
ground. Around 20 more from other countries including Turkey, Cyprus and
Spain were expected to join throughout the day. Additional help was also on
its way from Britain, Russia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Romania and Jordan, and the United States was sending a Boeing 747.

Read the news report about Carmel bushfire then fill in the missing information.
