Two wishes

It was the day before the most important exam

of the year. Maths! I hate maths. I just don't
understand it. Numbers .don't make any sense. Give
me words. I love words.
.I was looking at my book on the desk and trying
to revise. But I just didn't understand it. I kept
thinking about my birthday on Friday. Fail my
maths exam and goodbye party. I was depressed.
My birthday! Then I remembered, don't you get
one wish for everybirthday? Could I make my wish
now, three days early?
I looked at my book and I made a wish. I wished
.for the bestbirthday party everand then I made a
second wish. I wished that for once I could get the
best mark in the class. Better than Kate Holmes,
better than JamesLove, better than all those clever
kids who always get the top marks.
Then I went to bed. I was tired from all the wishing.
The next day I woke up and went to school. I was nervous. It was exam day and I didn't
know anything. I hoped my birthday wish would work. I took my picture of my dog with
me and put it on the desk. It's my lucky charm and it alwaysbrings me good luck.
MissChappell, the maths teacher gave me my exam. I looked at it. Was this maths? It
lookedlike Greek to me, all those symbols and strange letters. Luckily it was multiple
choice.I put circles around the A, B and Cs and spent the rest of the exam thinking about
my party.
The next day I got to school I was really nervous. Results. Was this the end of my party?
We got to the classroom but Miss Chappell was not there. The headmaster arrived. Miss C
wasill. The results would be on Monday. I was free!
The party was'great. Everyone was there. Kate Holmes and James Love talked about the
maths exam all night. I didn't care. I just danced.
So did the wish come true? I had the best party ever, that's true. Well remember that I
saidyou get one wish everybirthday. Well, I made two. And the second wish? Well on
Monday morning Miss C was there. I got my results. 33.33% exactly. Bottom of the class.
ok? Yes,it was that bad!
