The Bay-O-Net and ELSP backup current-limiting fuses work together, now
up to 38 kV, for optimal protection of a three-phase transformers.
Bay-O-Net (BON) holder and replaceable fuse-link
• Widest breadth of fuse-link ratings • BON holder and replaceable
available fuse-link
• Highest rated fuse-links in the • Current-sensing link – senses
industry, up to 38 kV secondary faults
• Provides economical solutions • Dual-sensing link – secondary
for a wide range of applications fault and temperature protection
• Quick and easy fuse-link • Dual-element link – enhanced
replacement in the field device coordination options
Reduced downtime and labor High-amp link* – senses high oil
Low-Current Protection Devices
• •
costs lessen customer impact temperature due to overloads
• Flapper™ valve on sidewall • 38 kV Link - senses secondary
mounted BON fuse holder faults
• Minimizes oil leakage and area
contamination
MagneX interrupter*
• Quick and easy field-resettable • Efficient, economical operation
overcurrent protection • Virtually eliminates load-losses
• Easily reset by the operating associated with a secondary
handle breaker – up to a 96%
improvement in efficiency
• Quicker fault diagnosis and
service restoration • Environmental advantage
• Doubles as transformer on/off • Transformer tank remains sealed
switch at all times
• Overload sensing device • Eliminates potential of oil
dripping on cable accessories
• Protects transformers from
increased oil temperatures and • Eliminates contamination of the
high-current surrounding environment

When selecting low-current protection devices and backup fuses, proper fuse coordination is critical to
insuring full-range transformer protection. Plotting the characteristics of each protective device using
Time Current Curves (TCCs) is the ideal way to visualize proper coordination. This is best done through
the use of electronic tools such as the TransFusion Coordination Program.
