/ Constant further development of a PV system

/ Auroville is a planned, international town in south-east India that was of-

ficially inaugurated in 1968. According to the most recent figures, almost
2200 people from a total of 45 different countries live here. The Afsanah
Guest House is among the most popular accommodation for visitors.

/ The PV system with storage unit that was installed in 2011 was originally
intended as a backup system for the existing diesel generator and the unrelia-
ble grid. After the first five months of operation however, the system had
dramatically reduced use of the generator and so it was decided to expand it.
With the exception of periods in which there was little or no solar power due
to weather conditions, the generator was almost unnecessary.

/ After net metering was introduced in 2014 and the system became grid
connected, the operator decided to replace the six existing inverters with one
Fronius Symo during the 2016 expansion phase. An important factor here
was that the Fronius Symo functions perfectly with the existing Victron
inverter-charger system.
