Our heritage dates back to the late 1950’s under the
original name of “J.D. Irving Marine Division,” towing

For over 30 years, Atlantic Towing has been working
with harbour and terminal tugs that are of the
highest standard and meticulously maintained.

Our diverse fleet includes ASD tugboats, which are specifically designed for terminal and harbour
operations. As a first-class provider, we service the 1st Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in Canada,
and excel in all areas of ship assist and harbour marine services, including traditional towage and
modern escort services. Along with LNG terminal towage, we offer oil terminal towage, single buoy
mooring support, and general harbour berthing. Our harbour and terminal activities have traditionally
focused on the Eastern Canadian market; however we recently began operations in Trinidad and
Tobago through our joint venture, ARC Towage, providing LNG terminal towage to the largest LNG
export terminal in the Western Hemisphere. Our world-class port services are supported by some of

environmental practices, leading change, finance, commercial excellence, Lean Six Sigma, and
continuous improvement. We also have a structured training and succession process whereby
employees can qualify for financial support to complete their university courses or marine certificates. In

growth of our fleet. Quality management is a critical element at Atlantic Towing and our integrated quality
management system, which is ISO 9001 certified, is central to maintaining these high standards. In
addition, as part of our Offshore business, we have completed benchmarking against the Offshore Vessel
Management Self-Assessment (OVMSA) which furthers our continuous improvement efforts.

Environment
We are proud to have achieved certification to ISO 14001, which is the standard for Environmental
Management Systems. We are partners in the Green Marine Program and our latest vessels are
constructed to DNV Clean Design with the Green Passport Notation. We also invest in Evergreen Tug
Technology™ as we plan for future generations of Atlantic Towing vessels that will be cleaner and more
efficient. Another example of our commitment is our use of Lean and Six Sigma process improvement
systems and tools, which are continuously evolving to deliver real cost savings to the customer in the
form of reduced fuel consumption while minimizing our environmental impact.

Security
We work closely with governments, port facilities and partner marine companies to detect potential
security threats and prevent security incidents. We have designated security personnel onboard our
vessels that are certified to the requirements of the International Ship & Port Security (ISPS) Code and
fully compliant with the Marine Transportation Security Regulations. We have even taken the proactive
measure of introducing a specially trained dog, managed by J.D. Irving, Limited Corporate Security, to
detect prohibited items on board vessels.
