No. 1¥140,111, filed Jun. 16, 2011 entitled "Mlt-Track Hellical Coaveyor", which is @ Section 371 National Stage Application of Intemational Application PCT/EP2009 (063108 filed Oct. 8, 2009 and published as WO 2010080809 in English both of which are herein incogporatedby reference in theirenirety. BACKGROUND ‘The discussion below is merely provided for general backs round information and isnot intended t be used as an aid in ‘determining the scope of the elsimed subject matter. Aspects of the present invention relate to @ conveyor for ‘conveying products, comprising at last a drivable helically shaped inner trek conveyor member and drivable elically- shaped outer track conveyor member, wherein the outer track ‘conveyor member surrounds the inner rack conveyor mem ber ‘Such a comeyor is known from WO 2008079010, Prod: ucts Which are received a lets ofthe known conveyor are teansported downwardly along the helically shaped inner and ‘outer track conveyor members and leave the conveyor at sifferent hoight levels. A disadvantage ofthe known conveyor js that the mitio betwoen the lengths of the paths along the Jimer and outer track conveyor members is fixed, SUMMARY, This Summary and the Abstract herein are provided t0 introduce a selection of concepts in simplified oan that are further deserbed below in the Detailed Description. This Summary and the Absteact are not intended identity key {eatures oF essential features of the claimed subject mater, nor are they intended 1o be used as an aid in determining the scope of the claimed subject matter The claimed subject matter is not limited t0 implementations tht solve any a all disadvantages noted in the Background. A conveyor herein deseribed includes ptehes ofthe inner track conveyor member and the outer trick conveyor member that are different, This feature provides the opportunity t0 vary the rato between the path lengths ofthe inner and outer teack eonveyor members, Ih tational conveyors the pitches ‘of the helically-shaped inner track conveyor member and the helcally-shaped outer track conveyor member ate the same in onder to support the inner aod outer tack conveyor mem- bers at the same height levels. As a consequence, as seen ‘long a certain distance along the center Tine of the conveyer the distance along the ner track conveyor member isshorter than that of the outer tack conveyor member de to the smaller diameter of the inner track conveyor member with respect o the outer track conveyor member. Due to diferent pitches ofthe conveyor the distance along the path oftheinnee track conveyor member may even be the same as the distance slong the path of the outer track conveyor member as mea- sured over a certain distance along the centerline of the ‘conveyor. This means that the inclination along the inner tack conveyor member is steeper than that ofthe outer track ‘conveyor ember. Incontrastt this, themaximumallesable ‘inclination ofthe inner track conveyor member of tational ‘conveyors determined the inclination ofthe cuter track con= veyor member, #8 Well 0 o 2 The pitch of the outer track conveyor member may be lager than tht of the ner track conveyor member inorder to bring the path lengths ofthe inne track conveyor memberand the outer track conveyor member, as measured between 0 parallel planes extending perpendicularly to a longitudinal center line ofthe conveyor, closer to each other ‘In.a panicular embodiment the pitches of the inner and outer track conveyor members are selected such that the Jengths along the paths ofthe inner and outer track con members are substantially the same as measured between {Wo parallel planes extending perpendicularly to longitudinal ‘eater line ofthe conveyor. In an alterative embodiment the inclination along. the Ihelical path ofthe inner track conveyor member is substan- silly the same as that of the outer track conveyor member. The inne tack conveyor member and the outer tack con veyor member may be supported by supporting. members ‘which are fixed to atleast frame supporting clement extend- ing substantially parallel to longitudinal centerline of the conveyor and disposed between the inner and outer trick ‘comveyor members. In this ease the supporting elements sup- port hath the inner and outer track comseyor members, which ‘means efficient use of space. Moreover, traditional conveyors sth as deseribod in respet of the prior set conveyor herein: before comprise central column from which elongated sup- porting members project in outward direction; traditionally. in case of adding a parallel helical track such an elongated supporting member could be extended to support the outer track conveyor member, as well. In case of different pitches elongated supporting members projecting from a central col ‘umn could be applied for supporting the outer track conveyor ‘ember, but this may be disndvanlageous because the sup- porting members would be located within the space between ‘wo height levels of the inner track conveyor member Te helical shape of the inner track coueyor member andr the outer tack conveyor member may have a eloc ‘wise turing of anti-clockwise turing orientation, as seen parallel 10 8 longitudinal centerline of the conveyor. This provides, for example, freedom of positioning an inlet and ‘outlet for the inner and outer track conveyor member, Tn ane embodiment the inner track conveyor member snd the outer tack conveyor member are coupled to each other such that products transported by the conveyor are trans- ported both along the path ofthe inner track conveyor mem- berandthe outer track conveyor member In this embodiment the produets are transported upwardly via the inner track conveyor member and downwardly via the outer track con vveyor member orn opposite direction. Infact the inner track ‘conveyor member and the outer rack conveyor member can be inteprated ina single conveyor member which follows the entire conveyor under operating conditions. ‘Anaspect ofthe invention i also related o a conveyor for conveying products, comprising at least a helically shaped inner track conveyor member and a heliclly-shaped otter ‘mack coneyor member, wherein the inner track conveyor ‘member is surrounded by the outer track conveyor member, ‘wherein the inner and outer rack conveyor members are rivable by driving means which follow the paths the inner ‘and outer track conveyor members, wherein the ianer trick teonveyor member andior the outer track conveyor member islare supported by at least & fame supporting element extending substantially parallel toa longitttinal centerline of the conveyor and disposed between the inner and outer track conveyor members. “An aspect of the invention i also related to a conveyor for conveying products, comprising at least a helically-sbaped inner track conveyor member and a belically-shaped outer US 9,227,783 B2 3 track conveyor member, wherein the inner track conveyor member is surrounded by the outer track conveyor member, wherein the inner and outer track conveyor members are drivable by driving mcans which follow the path of the inner ‘and outer irk conveyor members, wherein the inner track, ‘conveyor members sipported by at leat frame supporting ‘element extending substantially parallel to alongitudinal cen- ‘er line of the conveyor and disposed at an inner circumfer- ‘ential side of the inner track conveyor member. ‘An aspect ofthe invention i also related o a couveyor for ‘conveying produets, comprising at least a helically shaped inner track conveyor member and a helically-shaped outer track conveyor member, wercin the inaer track conveyor member is surrounded by the outer truck conveyor member, ‘wherein the inner and outer trick comeyor members are drivable by driving means which follow the paths of theinner and outer tack conveyor members, wherein the outer track ‘conveyor members supported by atleast frame supporting, ‘element extending substantially parallel alongitudinal cen ‘er Tine of the conveyor and disposed at an outer circumfer- ‘ential side of the outer track conveyer member ‘The rum supporting element may comprises plurality of pillarshaped elements extending substanally parallel to ‘each other "The inner rack conveyor memer and the outer rack con= veyor member may each be drivable by a driving belt, eg. @ ‘chs, which follows the helical path ofthe inner track con- veyor member and the outer tack conveyor member. The driving belt may be guided at least radially by a stationary Fame of the conveyor BRIE DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS.
