Petrel Fracture Modeling http://www.nexttraining.net/Sessions/Details/41903/Petrel-Fra...

This course covers the concepts of fracture modeling in relation to how it is used in
Petrel and the oil industry in general. It focuses on which input data are available
(like image log interpretations) and how they can be used in Petrel. Various
processes will be used to view, quality check and manipulate the input fracture
data (logs, stereonets, etc.)

In Petrel, fracture modeling is split into two processes; generation of a Fracture

Network model and Upscaling fracture attributes to generate fracture porosity,
permeability and Sigma (connection) factor. The Fracture network model consists
of a Discrete fracture network (DFN) and Implicit fracture properties (IFM). Various
geological, structural and seismic fracture drivers will be used for Fracture
intensity description, and ultimately combined using artificial neural networks. The
fracture modeling course will briefly cover how the output fracture properties can
be used for simulation.
