EDUCATION
MA in Technical Communication and eLearning | University of Limerick
SEP 2017 – PRESENT
This MA, which will be completed in the summer of 2018, has exposed me to
theories and practical applications of eLearning models and digital
communication practices. On this program, I have gained experience using a
range of multimedia and design tools (listed above), as well as knowledge of
current research methodologies in technical communications and emerging
trends in the industry. I developed projects from the storyboarding stage
through to completion within strict deadlines, often working on multiple
projects at one time. I have worked on several individual and collaborative
projects during the course of the MA, resulting in a QCA of 3.47 after the
spring semester. My final thesis project involves the design of an eLearning
resource for Post-primary school history classes and is being built in
collaboration with The Hunt Museum, Limerick.

BA in New Media and English | University of Limerick

SEP 2007 – MAY 2011
My Bachelor of Arts focused on the subjects of English literature and specific
aspects of new media, such as design software and audience analysis in a
digital world. The English strand of the BA focused largely on literature, but
also included modules on technical writing, linguistics and international
varieties of English.
EXPERIENCE
E-moderator/Technical Support | University of Limerick
SEP 2017 – MAR 2018
As an e-moderator on the Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership, I
facilitated online lessons on the web conferencing tool Big Blue Button (BBB)
through the LMS Sakai. I coached tutors before each session on how to use
the basic functions of BBB, and ensured that each lesson ran as planned on
the day. During lessons, I handled any technical issues which arose and
provided live technical support for both tutors and students.

English and Social Studies Teacher | SABIS Educational Services, Dubai

AUG 2014 – JUN 2017
I worked in the secondary department of the SABIS International School of
Choueifat in Dubai. The school teaches a combination of American, British
and SABIS curricula. I taught a range of composition, grammar, literature,
geography and history classes across all secondary grades. The range of age
groups and topics involved required a varied approach to classroom
instruction and use of multimedia resources. In my third year at the school I
was given the position of AP English Language and Literature (American
curriculum) teacher. This position involved teaching literary criticism to
students sitting the Advanced Placement examination for American
universities. For this class, I utilized the LMS Edmodo for file sharing and
assessments.

ESL Teacher | Ebo Young Talking Club, Gwangju, South Korea

MAR 2013 – MAY 2014
Ebo Young Talking Club is a private English language academy with students
ranging from eight-years-old to adults. I evaluated the level of new students
and, with the assistance of the school director, placed them in an appropriate
class. I planned and conducted one-to-one lessons based on the individual
needs and level of adult students.
