Module 1

design on the chip for given set of technology parameters and voltages. Effect of

SYSTEMS LAB: Analog optical communications using fibre optic communication


kit. Digital optical communications using fibre optic communication kit.
Communication switching circuit design of a 2 x 2 cross bar switch. Hamming
codes - Encoder/Decoder, Digital filters - first order filter, ADC/DAC. ADC/DAC
Microprocessor based. Frequency shift keying - decoding using PLL.Delta
modulation using discrete ICs. Display systems.
MICROWAVE LAB: Familiarisation of microwave components. Reflex Klystron
characteristics. Low and high VSWR measurements. Verification of relation
between L(g), L() and L(). Calibration of crystal, attenuator and frequency meter.

93.807 PROJECT

Each student is expected to prepare a report on the project work done by him/her
and present paper highlighting the work done by him/her in a seminar. The
student is expected to complete the project work assigned to him/her and submit
the project report by the end of the semester.

93.808 GENERAL VIVA-VOCE

At the time of Viva-Voce the candidates project has to be evaluated in addition to


assessing the students overall ability and knowledge in special field in
engineering. He is expected to present his academic records including project.
