Archaic Invocations

Presented here is an expansion to the eldritch


invocations found within the Player’s Handbook called
Archaic Invocations. These invocations follow all the
rules of other eldritch invocations.

Antecedent of Materials
You see objects as one iteration earlier, or 5 years,
whichever is older. This appearance looks grey,
colorless, and ethereal to you. For example, if a
message was written on a note, erased, and written over,
you would see both the old and new text.

Antecedent of Others
Prerequisite: 15th level
You see people with shadows of who they once where.
This appearance looks grey, colorless, and ethereal to
you. For example, if you see an old man, you might see
ethereal shapes of him in his younger days, and others
in his childhood, perhaps depicting some emotion
which, now, lacks context in your viewing.

All Will Serve


You know the charm person spell, which doesn’t
count against your number of warlock spells known.
Additionally, creatures charmed by you regard
information concerning your patron positively and
with delight when discussed.

Assured Blast
Prerequisite: 7th level
You can cast magic missile at will, only as a 1st-level
spell, without expending a spell slot.

Call for Aid


Prerequisite: 5th level
You know the spirit guardians spell. When you cast it, it
always deals force damage, and the spirits that appear
are instead apparitions of your patron’s servants.

Caster of Ritual Magicks


You learn one spell with the ritual tag from the
Wizard spell list and can cast that spell only as a
ritual. It doesn’t count against the number of warlock
spells you know. Additionally, you can cast any spell
with the ritual tag you know as a ritual. Finally, casting
spells as ritual takes only 1 minute of extra casting time
for you.

Claviger Seeming
You gain another creature type that fits or is closest
to your patron, in addition to humanoid. Fey for the
Archfey, Fiend for the Fiend, Aberration for the Great
Old One, and so on. When a feature references your
type, you can always choose which type to use for that
feature in that instance. This very well may create
physical changes within you. Talk with your DM to
discuss how this feature might alter your character.

Chicane Allied Adaptation


Prerequisite: 3rd level, eldritch blast cantrip
You have resistance to force damage. As a reaction
when a creature within the range of your eldritch blast
has force damage rolled against them, you can attempt
to interfere with your eldritch blast. Make a ranged
spell attack against the attacker’s spell save DC, or DC
15 if they have none. On a success, the force damage to
the creature is halved.

Curse Consumer
Prerequisite: 13th level
When a target is hexed, you may remove the hex and
end the spell as a bonus action. They must make a
Charisma saving throw against your warlock spell save
DC. On a failure, they are stunned until the start of their
next turn.
You cannot use this ability again until you finish a
short or long rest.

Door to the Realm


Prerequisite: 17th level
You can cast gate once without using a spell slot. You
can’t do so again for 7 days.

Dual Pact Weapons


Prerequisite: Pact of the Blade feature
You can bind up to two pact weapons and summon them
both as a bonus action. In addition, when you engage in
two weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to
the damage of the second attack.

Eldritch Ally
Prerequisite: 5th level, eldritch blast cantrip, Pact of the
Chain feature
When you forgo one of your attacks to allow your
familiar to make an attack with its reaction, the damage
is increased by 2d10 force damage.

Eldritch Orb
You know the chromatic orb spell, which doesn’t count
against your number of warlock spells known. When
you cast it, its dice become d10’s and you can deal
psychic damage with it.

Empowered Agility
Prerequisite: Pact of the Blade feature, 5th level
You know the zephyr strike spell.

Enchantment Apprentice
Choose one spell from the Enchantment school list.
The spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as
shown on the Warlock table, or a cantrip. This spell is
added to your spell list and does not count against the
number of Warlock spells you know. The chosen spell
counts as a Warlock spell for you.

Enchantment Master
Prerequisite: 11th level
Choose one 6th-level spell from the Enchantment school
list. You can cast this spell once without expending a
spell slot. You must finish a long rest before you can do
so again.

Excogigating Arcana
Prerequisite: Pact of the Tome feature
You gain proficiency in the Arcana and History skills and
add double your proficiency bonus to any ability check
you make that uses either of the two skills.

Eyes of a Thousand
You can perform one day’s worth of downtime research
in an hour, reading materials many times faster than
normally capable

Fugite Omnis
You gain the ability to hover a few inches off of the
ground. You can ascend and descend as part of your
movement. You can’t hover a foot or more above the
ground, and fall if you are above that height. If you were
to be knocked prone while hovering, you are instead
made to stand on the ground.

Footsteps Revealed
You ignore nonmagical difficult terrain.

Hand of my God
If you physically see someone who is an active cleric,
warlock, or some other serving person who has had
magical prowess given to them by the one they follow,
your patron imparts you with knowledge to recognize
them as such and what, if not who, they serve. Cultists
that derive power from their leader, for example.
In addition, you gain advantage on Charisma
checks for attempts to pass yourself off as a servant of
another master of this kind.

Hands of the Rune Keeper


Prerequisite: 5th level
You can cast glyph of warding without expending a spell
slot twice, and regain the ability to do so when you finish
a long rest.

Hexmaster
Prerequisite: 5th level
You know the hex spell, which doesn’t count against the
number of warlock spells you know. The spell doesn’t
require concentration for you.

Intertwining Influence
Prerequisite: 7th level
You know the web spell. When you cast it, you can
recreate a minor form of the domain of your Patron,
choosing from the list below as appropriate.
Great Old One. The webs are ethereal and
require Constitution saving throws and checks instead
of Dexterity and Strength. If a creature fails a check
or saving throw for the web three times, they contract
long term madness, as described on page 260 of the
Dungeon Master’s Guide.
The Fiend. The webs are alight with flames.
Any time a creature fails a saving throw or check for the
web, they take an additional 1d6 fire damage.
The Archfey. The webs are enchanting and
require Wisdom saving throws and checks instead
of Dexterity and Strength. If a creature fails a check
or saving throw, they are charmed by you while they
remain in the web and are not hurt by you or your allies.
If they fail a check or saving throw three or more times,
they will follow your basic instructions for up to 1 hour,
as long as they are not significantly self-sacrificial, or
unless they are hurt by you or your allies.

Janus’ Tongue
Prerequisite: 7th level
You gain proficiency in the Deception skill and
double your proficiency bonus for it. Creatures can’t
automatically detect your lies if they have such a feature.

Lock and Key


You can cast the arcane lock and knock spells. Once you
have cast one twice or both once, you can’t do so again
until you finish a short or long rest.

Magus’ Collection Psychometry
Prerequisite: 5th level You know the age, in years, of anything or anyone that
