education. In my opinion, technology will enhance teaching. According to Alberth, teaching and
learning with technology provides excellent, authentic, and abundant learning resources. It also
allows students to connect with other students to share their ideas. Besides, it will play a pivotal
role in the life of the knowledge society. David Andrade mentioned that educational technology
can benefit both teachers and students. Technology helps teachers to find lesson resources so that
they can make better study plans for students, and it is easier to connect with parents via
technology. What is more, it is easier for teachers to organize all papers and documents. Students
prefer technology than paper and pen because they are born in technology era. They will be more
engaged when they learn with technology. In addition, different students have diverse learning
styles, and technology can benefit all students because it can provide multiple learning styles for
students. Last but not least, teaching and learning with technology will protect the environment
because it will save a lot of paper. As a result, teaching and learning with technology should not

Identification of Standards
There are seven standards in the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards,
which are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer,
Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator; however, there are
six standards in the Nevada Computer and Technology Standards because it combine the
Communicator and Collaborator into one standard, and the six standards are Creativity and
Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making, Digital Citizenship, and Technology
Operations and Concepts. The terms in two standards are in the opposite order. In the ISTE
National Educational Technology Standards, there are only indicators, but there are detailed
indicators for different grades in Nevada Computer and Technology Standards. The contents in
Communication is important when students graduate and work in the real world. As a
result, I will use the ISTE National Education Technology Standards, standard #6: Students
communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the
platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals, to make the
lesson plan.

INTASC standards
1: Diverse Learners: The teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning
2: Multiple Instructional Strategies: The teacher understands and use a variety of instructional
performance skills.
Objective: Students will be able to understand the relations among the trigonometry functions,
and they can use these functions to solve real world problems.
Procedures:
Do First: When the class begin, I will ask students to take out their calculators to find some keys
(sin, cos, and tan). Then, I will ask them to find π, and what is the relation between π and degree?
Finally, I will let them turn their calculators to radian mode (5 minutes).
Mini-lesson: Now, I will start the class: Trigonometry Functions. When I click the Trigonometry
https://www.mathopenref.com/trigfunctions.html.
There are definitions of the six functions, relations among these functions, and the formulas. I
will highlight the key words and ask students to take notes (20 minutes).
Guided Practice: After teaching the knowledge, I will show some special triangles for them to
remember the trigonometry functions. Then, I will show some example questions to students.
After that, I will give them some similar questions to practice. When students finish the
questions, I will give the answers by solving these questions (30 minutes).
Independent Practice: Then, I will give them handouts to practice and set them into groups so
that they can discuss and share ideas. When they are working on these questions, I will walk
around and give them some tips when some students have problems. I will solve the problems in
the blackboard if more then two groups have the same question, which means most of them do
not understand the knowledge. Of course, I will prepare some hard questions for the skilled
students who may finish the handout early. When students finish the handout, I will let students
in different groups to solve different questions in the board. I hope through this activity, they can
improve their communication skills and know how to express themselves. I will give feedback
Homework: I will ask students to finish the homework online and send it to me via e-mail (5
minutes).
Question: Use any drawing tool to sketch the graph of the right triangle (two legs are 3 fts and 4
