The Source of Beings' Happiness

འོ་ལ་བ་ིད་འང་བ་ོ་གག་། །
dro la dekyi jungwé go chikpu
May the sole source of happiness for beings,

ན་མེན་ལ་བ་བན་པ་ན་པོ་། །
künkhyen gyalwé tenpa rinpoche
The Omniscient Conqueror's precious teachings,

ལ་ས་གནས་བས་ན་་་ཉམས་པར། །
yul dü nekab küntu mi nyampar
Never decline in any place or at any time,

ོགས་མཐར་དར་ང་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
chok tar dar shying gyepar dzé du sol
But flourish and spread to the farthest limits of the world!

ཚད་ད་མེན་དང་བེ་བ་དཔལ་མངའ་ང་། །
tsemé khyen dang tsewé pal nga shying
May those with the splendour of limitless wisdom and love,

ལ་བ་བན་པ་ོག་ར་གས་འན་པ། །
gyalwé tenpa sok tar chedzin pé
Who cherish the Conqueror's teachings like their own life-force,

མངས་ད་་མ་ད་བ་བས་གན་མས། །
tsungmé lama gewé shenyen nam
The gurus and spiritual guides who are without equal,

་་ང་ང་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
kutsé ring shying gyepar dzé du sol
Live long and prosper!

འོ་ལ་ད་བ་ལམ་བཟང་ང་མཛད་ང་། །
dro la gewé lamzang nang dzé ching
May those who illumine the noble path of virtue for beings,

འཆད་ོད་ོམ་པ་་བ་ར་ན་པ། ། 1
འཆད་ོད་ོམ་པ་་བ་ར་ན་པ། །
ché tsö tsompé jawa lhurlenpé
Who devote themselves to teaching, debate and composition,

ས་ེད་ད་འན་འ་དག་ཞབས་བན་ང་། །
chö jé gendün didak shyabten shying
The saṅgha of Dharma practitioners, live long,

ིན་ལས་དར་ང་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
trinlé dar shying gyepar dzé du sol
And may their activity flourish and spread!

་མས་ན་་འ་བ་འགས་ད་ང་། །
mi nam na ga chiwé jikme ching
May human beings have no fear of sickness, ageing or death,

འག་ེན་ཡང་དག་་བ་དང་ན་པས། །
jikten yangdak tawa dang denpé
And may they hold correct views of the world,

ཕན་ན་མས་པ་མས་དང་ན་པ་ས། །
pentsün jampé sem dang denpa yi
May they think of one another with loving kindness,

ཚད་ད་དགའ་བ་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
tsemé gawa gyepar dzé du sol
So that their joy expands and knows no bounds!

ོང་མས་འཇམ་པོ་ང་ས་གཡོ་བ་། །
drong nam jampö lung gi yowa yi
May towns and cities be beautifully garlanded

བ་དན་དཀར་པོ་ེང་བས་རབ་མས་ང་། །
baden karpö trengwé rab dzé shing
With white flags that flutter in a gentle breeze;

ས་བཟང་ན་ན་ན་ིས་ས་པ་། །
gö zang rinchen gyen gyi trepa yi
And may they be filled with affluent populations

འོར་ན་ེ་བོས་གང་བར་མཛད་་གསོལ། ། 2
འོར་ན་ེ་བོས་གང་བར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
jorden kyewö gangwar dzé du sol
All dressed in fine clothing and adorned with jewels.

མཁའ་ལ་ོག་ེང་་བ་ིན་མས་ང་། །
kha la lok treng gyuwé trin dzé shing
As clouds that flash with lightning embellish the sky,

ས་ལ་་་དགའ་བ་གར་མས་པ། །
sa la mabja gawé gar dzepa
And the joyful dance of peacocks enlivens the earth,

མ་་དལ་ིས་འབབ་པ་ཆར་ན་ིས། །
zimbu dalgyi babpé char gyün gyi
May continuous showers of gently falling rain

འོ་མས་དགའ་བ་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
dro nam gawa gyepar dzé du sol
Bring increasing delight and joy to living beings!

་མས་་དང་་ཏོག་འབབ་ས་བན། །
ri nam tsa dang metok babchü gyen
May the mountains be adorned with meadows, flowers and cascading streams,

ང་མས་་ཚོགས་འ་དང་གས་ིས་གང་། །
lung nam natsok dru dang chuk kyi gang
And the valleys filled with crops of grain and herds of livestock,

་མས་རབ་་དགའ་བ་་ན་ང་། །
mi nam rabtu gawé lulen ching
May people sing out in songs of perfect joy,

ེགས་དང་འཐབ་ོད་་བར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
drek dang tabtsö shyiwar dzé du sol
And all their arrogance and quarrelling be pacified!

ལ་པོ་ཆབ་ིད་་བས་གས་ོང་ང་། །
gyalpo chabsi shyiwé lek kyong shying
May kings and rulers govern peacefully and well,

འབངས་མས་ལ་པོ་བཀའ་ང་ས་ན་པས། ། 3
འབངས་མས་ལ་པོ་བཀའ་ང་ས་ན་པས། །
bang nam gyalpö kalung gü lenpé
As their subjects respectfully obey the laws;

ི་དང་ནང་་འག་ོད་ར་་ནས། །
chi dang nang gi truktsö nyershyi né
Thus may outer and inner conflict be pacified

ོགས་ན་བན་་བ་བར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
dzokden shyindu dewar dzé du sol
And happiness reign just as in the golden age!

གག་ལག་ཁང་མས་ལ་བ་་གགས་དང་། །
tsuklakhang nam gyalwé kuzuk dang
May temples be adorned with the conquerors' images

དམ་ས་ེགས་བམ་་མས་རབ་མས་ང་། །
damchö lekbam dumé rab dzé shing
And filled with many volumes of the noble Dharma;

་ས་མད་པ་ིན་ཚོགས་དཔག་ད་ིས། །
lhadzé chöpé trin tsok pakmé kyi
And, through immeasurable clouds of heavenly gifts,

མད་པ་ཆར་ན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
chöpé char chen gyepar dzé du sol
May great showers of offering expand and increase!

དན་གནས་ཐམས་ཅད་བ་བན་ོང་ེད་པ། །
gönné tamché tubten kyong jepé
May all monasteries be filled with saffron-robed guides,

བས་གན་ར་ིག་འན་པས་ཡོངས་གང་ེ། །
shenyen ngurmik dzinpé yong gang té
Who safeguard the great Sage's teachings;

འཆད་ོད་ོམ་པ་་བས་ས་འདའ་བ། །
ché tsö tsompé jawé dü dawé
May they spend their time teaching, debating and writing,

ོག་དང་ཁ་ཏོན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། ། 4
ོག་དང་ཁ་ཏོན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
lok dang khatön gyepar dzé du sol
So that study and recitation thrive!

ད་བེན་ད་ལ་ད་ོང་ཕ་མ་མས། །
genyen getsul gelong pama nam
May lay practitioners, novices and fully ordained monks and nuns

ི་མ་ད་པ་ལ་ིམས་དང་ན་ང་། །
drima mepé tsultrim dangden shying
Be endowed with immaculate ethical discipline,

མ་དག་ཐོས་བསམ་ོམ་པ་་བ་ས། །
namdak tö sam gompé jawa yi
And through pure study, contemplation and meditation

བ་གགས་བན་པ་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
deshek tenpa gyepar dzé du sol
Cause the teachings of the sugatas to spread far and wide!

བ་པ་པོ་མས་གང་བ་ན་ངས་། །
drubpapo nam yengwa künpang té
May practitioners abandon all forms of distraction,

འ་བ་ན་ལ་འ་འས་རབ་དན་པ། །
tsewa kündral dudzi rab wenpé
Forsake all violence and avoid busyness and commotion;

་བ་གནས་་ོང་བ་ར་ན་པས། །
shyiwé né su pongwa lhurlenpé
In places of tranquility, may they cultivate renunciation,

ོགས་པ་ཡོན་ཏན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
tokpé yönten gyepar dzé du sol
And may their qualities of realization develop and increase!

ག་པར་དད་པས་གསོལ་བ་འབས་ེད་པ། །
lhakpar depé solwa deb jepa
May those who faithfully offer this prayer in particular,

བ་པོ་བདག་ཅག་འར་དང་བཅས་མས་ལ། ། 5
བ་པོ་བདག་ཅག་འར་དང་བཅས་མས་ལ། །
drubpo dakchak khor dangché nam la
We practitioners and all those around us,

ལོག་འཚོ་ལ་བ་དཔལ་འོར་ན་ཚོགས་དང་། །
loktso dralwé paljor püntsok dang
Enjoy prosperity that is untainted by wrong livelihood,

་དང་དམ་ས་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
tsé dang damchö gyepar dzé du sol
And may our lifespan and mastery of Dharma increase!

ིན་དང་ལ་ིམས་བཟོད་དང་བོན་འས་དང་། །
jin dang tsultrim zö dang tsöndrü dang
May we gain all the attributes of the buddhas,

བསམ་གཏན་ས་རབ་་ན་ད་སོགས་ིས། །
samten sherab lanamé sok kyi
Including unsurpassable generosity, discipline

རང་ལ་སངས་ས་ས་མས་ཡོངས་ོགས་ནས། །
rang la sangye chö nam yongdzok né
Patience, diligence, concentration and wisdom,

ང་ོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
lungtok yönten gyepar dzé du sol
And may our qualities of learning and realization increase!

ིན་དང་ན་པར་་བས་འར་བས་ནས། །
jin dang nyenpar mawé khor dü né
By attracting disciples with our generosity and pleasant speech,

དོན་ོད་དམ་ས་ལ་བན་བཤད་པ་མས། །
dönchö damchö tsulshyin shepé tü
Through the purposeful act of teaching the Dharma correctly,

རང་གཞན་དོན་མན་ས་ལ་གས་ར་ནས། །
rangshyen döntün chö la lek jar né
And through perfectly coordinating our own and others' aims,

གཞན་དོན་ས་བན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། ། 6
གཞན་དོན་ས་བན་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
shyendön chö shyin gyepar dzé du sol
May benefit to others in accordance with the Dharma increase!

ས་ི་འགལ་ེན་མཐའ་དག་ར་་ང་། །
chö kyi galkyen tadak nyershyi shying
May all that hinders and obstructs the Dharma be pacified,

མན་ེན་མ་ས་ན་མ་ཚོགས་ར་ནས། །
tünkyen malü pün sum tsok gyur né
And may every form of favourable circumstance abound,

གང་དང་གང་ལ་བ་པས་རབ་བགས་པ། །
gang dang gangla tubpé rab ngakpé
So that all these virtues, which the Sage himself has praised,

ད་བ་འ་དག་ས་པར་མཛད་་གསོལ། །
gewa didak gyepar dzé du sol
May flourish and prevail!

ས་པ་འདོད་དོན་གསོལ་བ་ ཽ་ཀ་བ་་འ་ོ་ེ་འཆང་ས་མཛད་པ་ནོར་ན་མ་དིལ་འར་ི་བོད་པ་ལས་
ང་བའོ།།
These verses of prayer for the fulfilment of wishes are taken from Ngorchen Dorje Chang's praise of the Vasudhārā
