Concrete is a mixture of paste and aggregates, or rocks. The paste, composed of portland cement and water, coats the surface of the fine (small) and coarse (larger) aggregates.
Slump Cone - A mould in the form of a frustum of a cone used to
test the workability of concrete (slump test) Pressure type B meter - measures the air content of fresh concrete where the pressure is applied to the sample to compress the entrained air in the pores Compression testing machine - Used in testing compressive strength of a concrete using concrete cubes Flexural testing machine - Used to determine the flexural or bending strength of concrete Accelerated curing tank - This tank has been designed for accelerated concrete strength curing Freexe thaw tester - a cabinet like a freezer where a cured concrete specimens are placed Tamping rod - round, straight steel rod used with concrete cylinder molds, slump cones, and unit weight tests. Windsor probe - used to evaluate the compressive strength of in- place concrete. This non-destructive test can be used on fresh or mature concrete with equal effectiveness.
