The aim of the course is to enable the candidates to specialize in the medical field of
diagnostic and interventional radiology. By the end of the course the candidates should
become primarily broadly skilled and safe general radiologists who recognize the basic
knowledge of different radiological sub-specialities and acquire the communication and

analytical problem solving skills necessary to reach a radiological diagnosis, respecting
ethical values according to community culture. The course also aims to introduce the
candidate to the basics of scientific medical research and to engage him in continuing
media! education.
2._Intellcctual_skills: By the end of the program the candidate should be able to;
a) Develop skills and audit methodology that are necessary to structure and perform
research and audit under appropriate guidance.
b) Review published articles critically and to perform effective literature searches on a
given topic.
c) Interpretation of the effective application of research findings in everyday practice will
be also required.
3. General and transferable skills: By the end of the program the candidates should
be able to;
a) Participation in reporting different radiological examinations which are taken during the
general throughput of the normal working day of the department of radiodiagnosis.
b) Attendance at and conducting clinicoradiological conferences and mullidisciplinary
meetings.
c) Competence at reviewing studies on a workstation and familiarity with digital image
manipulation and post-processing.

e) Provision of a good standard of practice and care, treatment in emergencies writing
reports, giving evidence and signing documents,

Scientific presentation for an advanced imaging technique and its applications

In each of the specialized radiology imaging units, a weekly meeting is held to
review recent research studies and articles

Day one: Radiodiagnosis and Interventional Radiology, Paper 1 (short essays. 3
hours)
Day two: Radiodiagnosis and Interventional Radiology, Paper 2 (multiple choice
questions, 3 hours)

Marks allocated to courses (50 marks for each credit point).
