Dermatitis is a skin disorder that causes inflammation of the skin.

It belongs to the
branch of Dermatological immunology. It deals with skin disorders that are caused due to
allergic reactions and skin inflammation. These are caused due to adverse drug reactions.
Dermatitis occurs in different forms. The symptoms are itchy rash and reddened skin. It is not
a contagious disease and doesnot pose any threat to life.

Dermatitis

It is well known as Eczema, It is an inflammation that affects the skin. It is signalized by itchy,
erythematous, vesicular, weeping, and crusting patches. The term eczema is also commonly
used to relate atopic dermatitis. Also known as atopic eczema. While, dermatitis and eczema
are synonyms, while in some languages dermatitis inferred an acute condition and eczema a
chronic one. The cause of dermatitis is unclear however one possibility is a undermined
interplay between the immune system and skin.

Seborrheic Dermatitis

It is also known as sebopsoriasis, seborrhei eczema, dandruff and pityriasis capitis.It is a


chronic, relapsing and usually mild dermatitis while in infants seborrheic dermatitis is usually
known as cradle cap. Seborrheic dermatitis is considered to be an inflammatory where skin
disorder affecting the scalp, face and torso.

Stasis Dermatitis

It is considered to be a skin inflammation provoke by blood pooling in the veins in your legs.
Pooling of blood in the veins of the legs is commonly called venous insufficiency or venous
stasis however venous pooling exerts the pressure inside the veins to be higher than normal
(venous hypertension).

Nummular Dermatitis

Other common names of nummular dermatitis are “Discoid Eczema, Microbial Eczema,
Nummular Eczema and NummularNeurodermatitis”. These are the many forms of dermatitis.
However it is characterised by round or oval shaped itchy lessions. Causes of nummular
eczema can be poor by stress and increased usage of caffeine which dehydrates the body and
hence the skin.

Exfoliative Dermatitis

Exfoliative dermatitis is peeling of the skin over large areas of the body while the term
“exfoliative” means the exfoliation, or shedding, of the skin. Sometimes “Dermatitis” means
irritation of the skin. The skin peeling may be related with pre-existing medical conditions
found in some people, while in some the cause is unknown. Exfoliative dermatitis, also
called erythroderma, is serious but rather uncommon. Problems can include infection, loss of
nutrients, and dehydration.

Acrodermatitis

Acrodermatitis is said to be a childhood form of dermatitis electively affecting the hands and
feet and may be followed by light symptoms of fever and malaise. It may also relate
with hepatitis B and other viral infections. It is a diffuse chronic skin disease usually affect the
limbs, mainly found in women in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe.

Baby Eczema

Baby Eczema is also called infant eczema or atopic dermatitis which is found in about 10%
