Lesson 04
Co-Worker of Christ
John 17:20–23 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who 1will believe in Me through their
word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that
the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may
be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world
may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
1 Corinthians 12:12–14 12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one
body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—
whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink 7into one Spirit. 14 For in fact
the body is not one member but many.
Ephesians 4:13–14 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a
perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children,
tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness
of deceitful plotting
The disciples’ development continue until the very end of their life. Their path is like the
shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
Proverbs 4:18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the
full light of day.
Even as we build the church with Jesus, we should not neglect our personal development as
disciples until the day when Jesus will fetch all those who so faithfully followed Him and
served Him. Together with those whom we help in their walk with Christ, we will be presented
as a glorious church, each being without spot or wrinkle. What a glorious day it will be.
1 John 3:2-3. “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we
shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as
He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
SHARE: As a disciple grows deeper in his relationship with Jesus, the more he becomes aware
that Jesus wants to use him to help others have a relationship with Jesus as well and help them
grow in that same relationship. Is this what you experience now? Explain your answer.
