Brief Description, Goals and Objectives

The 2018 nutrition month celebration with the theme: “Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon
Aanihin” aims to improve the healthy food consumption of Filipinos, food security or to be self-
sufficient as possible with backyard gardening. Having food gardens can help improve the
family as well as the community’s food security. Vegetables or fruit crops are plenty, could be
sold some of them to earn additional income.

2018Nutrition Month aims to:

1. contribute to improve food and nutrition security by increasing access to a diversified


source of food for families and communities alike
2. improve incomes through sales from home-grown produce; and
3. promote the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition to address malnutrition in the country.

Through active participation, the students can develop to:

 express ideas in writing and drawing.


 recall and apply learned concepts about food and nutrition.
 promote awareness and value the importance of good nutrition.
 prepare nutritious foods in a skillful manner.
This kind of activity, gives parents the chance to realize the value of being a nutritionist of the
family. Since they are the providers of health needs of each member of the family, the awareness
on the importance of Good Health shall be heightened.
