Subject : Breakage and water leakage of SK200-8.

Subject: Attention: Heat an empty EGR cooler of Hino engine.

1. Background of Information
HINO engine of (SK200-8,SK250-8,SK330-8) have EGR system for reducing Nox.
EGR system returns exhaust gas partly to intake point with cooling.

Coolant water of radiator is passing Cooler
through EGR cooler.
When air got into of EGR cooler,
it will be pilled up in EGR cooler,
When you start the engine in that condition,
don't running the engine with high idle ,loading.
Because there are possibility of breakage and water leakage
due to high temperature caused by heating without cooling
water in EGR. When you supply water to radiator
please follow strictly the procedue.(P.2/2)

 Attention:

Engine outward In case of exchanging coolant, water leakage,

appearance supply coolant when the water
level dropped by repair,:
Don't run the engine with loading driving in high
idle until air bled completely.
(Strictly prohibition: high idle,
continuous operation with loading.)

 Water supply basic work procedure at radiator
① Supply coolant water up to Hi level of reserve tank.
② Supply water from radiator cap port.
Speed to pour water:5∼6L/min
③ Engine start without the radiator cap. (at low idle)
④ Don't run the engine with loading in high idle until air bled completely.

⑤ Water supply from radiator cap port when liquid level has dropped.

⑥ Run engine 20 minutes or more, then tighten the cap.

⑦ Leave to cool down the radiator.
⑧ Inspect the level of radiator and sub tank after enough cooling.
・ If the level dropped, you have to supply coolant water and check leaking of
coolant water.

Wait until the temperature goes down, when you remove a radiator cap.
