1.0 INTRODUCTION

Arvandan Oil and Gas company intends to construct an 8" N.B. buried flowline
from Sohrab WH1 to South Azadegan North Cluster.

Sohrab Field is located at North of Azadegan Field, and 115 Km North West of
Ahwaz right along the international border with Iraq.

The major sections of the project are:

- Wellhead facilities (at WH No.1).


- 8" N.B, 50 Km (Approx.) buried flow line.
- Receiving trap facility at South Azadegan North Cluster.

1.1 Terms and Definitions

Owner/ client: Arvandan Oil & Gas Company (AOGC)

EPC Contractor: Shall Mean The Contractor Responsible

Consultant: Enerchimi Engineering Company (EEC)

Vendor/ Supplier: Refers to firm or person who will supply

Shall: is used where a provision is mandatory.

2.0 CODES AND STANDARDS

Specification shall comply with the latest revision of relevant codes and
standards referred to in this document at the time of contract award.

2.1 Codes and Standards

The following specifications, codes, and standards as noted herein and/or the
other contractual document shall be considered as a basis of this specification:

Any deviation from the above specifications, codes, and standards shall be
made out-standing and brought to the attention of the PURCHASER for
approval.

3.0 DESIGN

3.1 General Description

3.2.1 The Chemical Injection packages are used in this Project includes corrosion
inhibitor, wax inhibitor, asphaltene inhibitor, scale inhibitor and demulsifier
injection package.

3.2 Injection Pumps

3.2.2 Pumps shall be positive displacement controlled volume diaphragm type,


designed to accurately meter the injected chemicals as per API 675 STD.
packed plunger type is not acceptable.

3.2.3 Design capacity for pumps is 130% of normal capacity.

3.2.4 Relief valves for mounting on skid mounted package piping shall be furnished.

3.2.5 The capacity shall follow as closely possible as straight line relationship with
stroke length.

3.2.6 Guided, controlled travel, ball type check valves at discharge lines shall be
provided, valves shall have renewable seats.

3.2.7 Pumps materials shall be suitable for the required service.

3.2.8 The pump and driver shall be aligned properly and shall be free of critical
vibration and excessive noise.

3.2.9 Multiple head pumps are acceptable. One pump or pump head per injection
point is mandatory.

3.2.10 Each variable pump shall be equipped with a safety valve to limit discharge
pressure to the required pressure value. The discharge line shall be looped
back to the storage tank.
A pressure gauge shall be installed on each outlet for enabling regulation of
pressure in the piping.

3.2.11 Under no circumstances shall parallel injection over several points be allowed
unless instruments are provided to control the injection rate at each point.

3.2.12 For chemicals injected a minimum of one complete spare pump shall be
provided.
3.2.13 The pumps shall be driven by electric motors and shall be equipped with suction

and discharge piping, fittings, valves and strainer.


3.3 Storage Tank

Tanks shall be made of materials, which resist corrosion from the stored
product. Protection against atmospheric corrosion shall be assured by
application of the paint.Tank shall be equipped with an individual system for
filling enabling:
a. Filling from product delivered in container (Bulk).
b. Filling from product delivered in drums.
Storage tank completes with all nozzles, manhole, level gauge, level switch,
mixer and mixer mounting bracket, hinged lid, connections for pump suction
line, relief line return, over flow and drain connections.

3.4 Mixers

The tank mixer shall be a vertical type, securely supported independently from
the tank. The support shall be designed such that the mixer is easily removable.
The mixer design and materials shall be as specified on the chemical injection
package data sheets.

3.5 Drivers

a. Pump drivers shall be electric motors.


b. Mixer drivers (if required) shall be electric motors.
c. Electric motors shall meet the area classification requirements for their
location.
d. Electric motors shall comply with the specification for Induction Motors and
IPS standard, IPS-M-EL-131(1).

3.6 Piping System

3.6.1 The pipe size and pressure rating shall be in accordance with the maximum flow
rate and pressure encountered in the system.

3.6.2 Pulsation damper with isolation valve at discharge of pump should be provided.

3.6.3 Provision shall be made for piping expansion, contraction and vibration and
piping shall be supported so that the weight of the piping is not supported by the
pumps.

3.6.4 Particular care must be taken with the piping to provide minimum restriction for
equipment accessibility and minimize friction losses especially in pump suction.

3.6.5 The complete package with all piping system assembled shall be functionally
tested to ensure proper operation as required by this specification.

3.6.6 Drain connection at suction line of pump should be provided.


4.0 EXTENT OF SUPPLY

4.1 General

Each chemical injection package shall consist-but not limited to as follow:

4.1.1 One chemical storage tank, with an electrically driven mixer

4.1.2 Chemical injection pumps with electric motor drivers, stroke adjustment screw
assemblies, the related terminal boxes

4.1.3 Calibrating bottles

4.1.4 Pulsation damper

4.1.5 Motor control boards

4.1.6 Pressure gauges, flow indicators

4.1.7 Relief valves

4.1.8 Level gauges and level switches of the chemical storage tanks

4.1.9 Local control panel for locally mounted alarm and inter locks

4.1.10 Valves, flanges, pipes, strainers and fittings

4.1.11 Skid frames

4.2 Instruments/Control

4.2.1 A single control panel for pump control and monitoring for each package shall
be considered.

4.2.2 VENDOR shall provide an external relief valve downstream of each pump,
regardless if the pump has an integral hydraulic fluid relief valve.

4.2.3 A tank level gage for each tank, complete with isolating and with vent and drain
shall be supplied.

4.2.4 A pump calibration gage shall be installed in the pump suction piping, complete
with calibration tube and isolating and vent valve.

4.3 Electrical

4.3.1 A local electrical panel for each package shall be provided on the skid. Only a
one 3-phase feeder (400/380 V, 4wire) shall be brought to the panel.

4.3.2 Other consumers such as control panel shall be fed from electric panel.

4.3.3 Electrical panel shall contain a main switch, back-up fuse protection, phase
control relays, contactors, motor starter, etc. ingress protection of the panel
should be at least IP56 & to comply with IPS-M-EL-142.

4.3.4 All interconnecting cable, cable glands, elec. Fittings, etc. shall be provided on
the skid.

4.3.5 On the skid enclosure of all electrical devices shall be electrically bonded and
connected to frame. Earthing stud shall be provided at two opposite side of
frame.

4.4 Skid

4.4.1 All package components shall be mounted on a structural steel skid.

4.4.2 The skid shall be designed for mounting on a concrete foundation and come
complete with holes for anchor bolts.

4.4.3 The skid shall have, as a minimum four lifting lugs and be designed with
sufficient rigidity so when all components are mounted on the skid, the skid can
be lifted at the lift points without damaging or distorting any of the components.

4.5 The General Fittings and Accessories Including

4.5.1 Interconnecting piping, valving, fittings, strainer pulsating damper & other piping
material should be selected from the corrosion resistant material.

4.5.2 Flow indicator

4.5.3 One common galvanized support frame built in with equipment and accessories
listed above

4.5.4 The name plates or signal tic plates for tanks, pumps, motors, instruments with
their stamped item number and the characteristics for the main equipment

4.5.5 Transportation and lifting lugs or holes

4.6 Battery Limits

4.6.1 The Battery for each package included all the items described in paragraph 3
and limited inclusively at the following points:

a. The discharge connection of pumps according to P&ID.


b. Drain and vent outlet connections.
c. The glands of terminal box of control cables.
d. The glands of motor starter terminal box for power cables.

4.6.2 The following items exclude from the scope of VENDOR supply:

a. Electrical power feeder


b. Control SKID & signal cables going off
c. Motor control centre installed in electrical room
d. Lighting

5.0 NOISE LEVEL

The maximum sound pressure level shall not exceed 85 dB @1 meter from
Package.

6.0 PAINTING

Surface preparation and painting of equipment and the complete package


should be considered in accordance to specification for paint.

7.0 TEST

All the equipment of the installation shall be tested in workshop by


Company’s Inspector or its Representatives, in conformity with the
requirements and usual practice, in particular:
a. System functional test
b. Pumps and motor tests (Pumps shall be tested in accordance with API 675
requirements)
c. During tests, vibration bearing temperature and noise level will be recorded
as stated in the relevant data sheets

d. Hydrostatic pressure test for the pressure vessel


e. Hydrostatic test for fabricated piping
f. Visual and dimensional tests for each equipment

8.0 PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT

Requirements for preparation for shipment:


a. Each component shall be securely anchored to the skid.
b. Equipment shall be free from loose scale, dirt, and foreign material. Liquid
used for hydro-test or cleaning shall be completely drained and the vessel
shall dried prior to sealing for transit.
c. All instruments which may get damaged during shipment and control valves
shall be removed properly tagged and crated in water-proof boxes and
shipped along with the main skid.
d. All open ends on the skid and open ends of loose shipped interconnection
piping shall be treated with a suitable preservative and close off by wooden
blanks and taped. Small bore threaded connections shall be taped over. Tell-
tale holes and screwed connectors shall be filled with heavy grease.
e. No piping or equipment shall overhang or extend beyond the skid edge.
f. Suitable supports shall be sufficiently rigid that it does not deflect during
lifting.
g. All temporary shall be conspicuously marked for easy identification and
removal at site.
h. The exterior of all crated equipment shall be identified in accordance with the
requirements stated in the requisition.

9.0 SPARE PARTS FOR COMMISSIONING AND TWO YEARS OPERATION

VENDOR is to include in his proposal recommended spare parts for


commissioning and two years operation, indicating price and delivery.

10.0 SPECIAL TOOLS

a. The supply shall include one set of tools for each type of equipment.
b. These special installation and maintenance tools will be required for normal
maintenance and overhaul of all components of the unit.
c. Tools to be furnished are those that a mechanical or electrical technician
would not be expected normally to have in his possession, and are
necessary to dismantle, service and assemble all components of the unit.

11.0 PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE

The SUPPLIER shall provide a performance guarantee for chemical injection


package based on requirements of the data sheets, the primary codes, and
standards listed in accordance with the warranty period and conditions of
commercial enquiry documents.
The SUPPLIER shall agree to repair or replace any part of the chemical
injection package, under this warranty, which proves to be defective within the
warranty period.
