Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the cumulative study of science subjects under the one name. It is emerging field of
science that is rapidly flourishing and becoming a hope for the future as it can provide many solutions
to human illness and diseases (Health and Medicine Biotechnology) as well as to make the
environment friendly to the organisms (Environmental Biotechnology). It has also revolutionized the
industry for the last few decades and yet it is on the progressive road (Industrial Biotechnology). On the
other hand it is imparting a great effect to food and agricultural field, helping in reducing food born
diseases and famine (Food and Agricultural Biotechnology). And there are many more aspects of this
revolutionizing subject like the modern day Nanobiotechnology which is making possible to matters
which were impossible in the past like nanochips made for neural disorders etc.

Being an interdepartmental subject, it also provides a gate to peer in other science fields like Physic
(Biophysics) and Chemistry (Biochemistry) Botany, Mathematics etc. Also it also emphasize to gain a
huge amount of knowledge of other science biology subjects like Cell and Molecular Biology
(fundametal requirement to study the Biotechnology), Statistics it can be Biostatistics or just ordinary
statistics, Bioinformatics (necessary for modeling) and many other such subjects.

For me Biotechnology is not just a scientific field, it is “Blessing of God” for the welfare of human
beings. As it has been demonstrated by many workers, that this is not just an ordinary subject to
provide the proof of my phrase “Blessing of God”. For example gene therapy, cloning, nanochips,
monoclonal antibodies, cell culture and long list of other techniques and products of Biotechnology. It
becoming the most practicable and work-able field of science when we speak about the amount of hope
to cure the diseases especially the genetic disorders, once considered can not be treated e.g. SCID,
Haemophilia, Cystic Fibrosis, Haemoglobinopathies, and especially cancer.
