the Lyons-Charbonnières Festival. First performance: Lyons-Charbonnières
Festival, 27 June 1956, by ‘Ballets 1956’, choreography by Maurice Béjart;
revived in Paris, Théâtre Marigny, October 1957, choreography by Maurice
Béjart, sets and costumes by Bernard Daydé.Non-staged performances of this
score were forbidden by the composer, as were concert performances of the
36 A – ORCHESTRAL SUITE FROM PROMÉTHÉE
which was first performed in 1958 on the Hamburg Radio by the Orchestra
of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk, conducted by Jean Martinon.
