Answer :
Weight of principal parts
Parts RG63M(M2) RG64M(M2) RG65M(M2)
Turbine casing cover including upper half nozzle, 730 1180 1330
governor valve and emergency stop valve
Turbine rotor including blades, coupling and 360 440 500
pinion
Reduction gear casing cover 160 170 200
Reduction gear wheel, its shaft and coupling 220 290 360

Reduction gear
The reduction gear is of the single reduction single helical type. The pinion is connected with the
rotor through the rigid coupling.
The teeth faces of the pinion and the gear wheel are grinded to operate efficiently and silently.

Performance
When measured value becomes higher then the set value(deviation), the upper end of
proportional lever shifts to the right. Thrust the flapper approaches to the nozzle and the back
pressure of nozzle i.e., the pressure charged upon pilot really, increase. Consequently valve in
pilot relay opens and supply pressure flows into control side to increase the pressure. At the time, this
pressure in charged upon proportional bellows and lifts up proportional lever and thrust flapper is
detached from the nozzle and control pressure is set in proportion to such deflection. All of the aforesaid
actions occurred simultaneously in the actual operation. When both pointers overlap (deviation “O”)
control pressure becomes 0,6kg/cm2( intermediate point of 0,2 – 0,1 kg/cm2)

14. Using of the schematic diagrams that you drew of an electromechanical motor controlled from any of the
previous questions: explain host you would use a voltmeter to determine.
a. If the fuses were no good
b. If the operating coil was no good
c. If the contacts needed cleaning use the schematic diagram in your discussion.
Answer :
a. If the fuses were no good
To know the condition of fuses good or not we can use voltmeter, because the fuses have an impedency
so we can determine wit voltmeter only drive the fuses 220 volt or 380 volt. Then use voltmeter to
reading the voltage, if the voltage meter, then usual, its mean the fuses are short
b. If the operating coil was not good
Coil in wiring diagram is to produce power for make electrical if the coil was not good. So there is no
voltage when we use voltmeter, because the coil was not working properly to produce an electrical
voltage
c. If the contact needed cleaning
Contact usually very sensitive from the weather and the situations to put this contact, when we use
voltmeter than the needles bad always rise to fast, it’s mean there is problem in the contact like there is
some thinks that make the contact short, so we use cleaner to clean the contact

30. Ask the chief mate to explain the “ Trim and Stability Manual”. Sometimes called the “loading manual”
(typically kept on or near the bridge). Using the trim and stability book manual. Explain in your own
words the instructions on how to safety load the ship include information for both vessel stability and
bending stress. If a loading computer program is used you may explain its operation. (Note this does not
mean to list the operating instructions). If available. Attach a copy of a loading condition from trim and
stability book or the computer program and explain the input and output.
Answer :
In my ship VLGC NUSA BRIGHT, when loading operation is keep by chief officer, second officer, and
third officer. They are responsible for trim and stability of ship for controlled loading operation, gas
engineer are responsible it, when loading manual, the officer on duty must check flow rate of cargo
loading, temperature, pressure, and condition. Every one hour the officer check draft aft and forward to
calculate the trim and stability. We have monitoring program of the capacity of cargo every 15 minutes,
we must check valve and safety loading operation from shore to vessel.

e. The procedure for taking fresh water from shore when it is verified that the shore connection concerned is
providing portable water this connection and the ship shade should be flushed for at least 2 minutes.
After flushing the shore connection and the hose a small sample should be taken in a glass this sample is
to be examined on :
 Non-solubility
 Color
 Smell
 Taste
When there is doubt about the quality of the water, the bunkering should be aborted. If water must be
bunkered to remain operation the quality must be kept as low as possible.
In this case, all person on board are to be warned not to consume the water unless boiled. The next

3. Describe in detailed equipment listed on board your vessel for the detection of fires. Include drawing of
the fire detection system or systems.
Answer :
On my vessel for detection of fire using 2 types detector :
 Thermal detector
 Ion smoke detector
Thermal detector consists of two electronic temperature responsive elements which are arrange. One
element in close contact with the surrounding air, and second element is in contact through a slower heat
path large and sudden temperature changes will cause the detector to switch the alarm signal.
Ion smoke detector, the smoke detector can detect if there is a smoke in all parts of vessel, if the detector
is detected any smoke it will be sign of alarm signal.
