(Common to CE, ME and ECE)

Time: 3 hours Max. Marks: 70

(Answer all five units, 05 X 14 = 70 Marks)

UNIT – I
1 A point P in 30 mm and 50 mm respectively from two straight lines which are at right angles to each
other. Draw a rectangular hyperbola from P within 10 mm distance from each line.
OR
2 Construct a hypocycloid, rolling circle 50 mm diameter and directing circle 175 mm diameter. Draw a
tangent to it at a point 50 mm from the center of the directing circle.
UNIT – II
o
3 A line AB, inclined at 40 to the VP has its ends 50 mm and 20 mm above the HP. The length of its front
view is 65 mm and its V.T is 10 mm above the HP. Determine the true length of AB, its inclination with
the HP and its HT.
OR
4 A thin 30 -60 set square has its longest edge in the VP and inclined at 30o to the HP. Its surface makes
o o

an angle of 45o with the VP. Draw its projections.

UNIT – III
5 A square pyramid of 50 mm side of base and 50 mm length of axis is resting on one of its triangular
faces on the HP, having a slant edge containing that face parallel to the VP. Draw the projections of the
pyramid.
OR
6 Draw the projections of a cube of 25 mm long edges resting on the HP on one of its corners with a solid
diagonal perpendicular to the V.P. Use auxiliaries plane method only.
UNIT – IV
7 A combination of solids in formed by a vertical square prism of 40 mm sides and height 25 mm and a
vertical square pyramid of 30 mm sides of base and height 45 mm. The square pyramid is placed on the
top face of the square prism. Both the solids are coaxial. Draw the isometric projection of the
combination of the solid.
OR
8 A hemi sphere of 60 mm diameter with its flat, circular flat at the top in placed centrally on the top flat
end of an another hemisphere of diameter 80 mm. Draw the isometric projection of the arrangement.
UNIT – V
9 A vertical cylinder of 80 mm diameter axis 100 mm is completely penetrated by another cylinder of
60 mm diameter and axis 100 mm long their axis bisecting each other at right angles. Draw their
projections showing curves of penetration assuming the axis of the penetrating cylinder to the parallel to
the VP.
OR
10 A square plane with a 50 mm side lies on the GP with the edge nearer to the observer lying in the PP.
The station point is 40 mm in front of PP, 50 mm above GP and lies in a CP which is 40 mm towards
right of the center of the object. Draw its perspective view.
