Dear Parents,

          My name is Dayna Hansen and I will be teaching your child in

his/her Art 1 class. I will be out on maternity leave for the first quarter of
the fall semester.  Mr. Todd Urban will be taking over my courses during
this time. Mr. Urban is a retired Lakewood High School art teacher and he
has over 20 years experience in the district.  He is well prepared to take
over in the classroom and we expect the transition to go very smoothly. 

ART 1
 This beginning course is designed for students interested in specializing
in Art. Composition, various techniques in art plus the use of tools and
materials will be emphasized. Basic projects include portrait and still life

drawings, painting, logo design, printmaking, color theory, and two-

dimensional design. Homework is required. Students should always
come prepared to class with A Box of Pencils, Micron Pens (or Sharpie
Pens), and Pink Pearl Erasers.
