9. Ordering Information
1- ASME Timeline
ASME was founded in 1880 in response to numerous steam boiler pressure vessel
failures.
First performance test code of Steam Boilers trail was conduct in 1884.
First revision of an ASME standard was made in 1900.
ASME has over 140,000 members in 158 countries worldwide .
It produces approximately 600 codes and standards covering many technical areas.

MTC provides Traceability and Assurance to the end user about the quality of the steel used
and the process used to produce it.
Certifies material's Chemical and Physical Properties and states a product made of material.
Declaration of compliance with the Statement of compliance with the order by the
2.1 order manufacturer.
No test results shown.
With mention of test results from specific inspection and Batch test results needed on the certificate.
2.3 Specific test report

5e- Materials not listed in construction codes UG-10(a)
Allows the use of material NOT listed in Section VIII, provided it is identified and traceable by
heat/lot number to the original chemistry from the Material Manufacturer
– Compare chemical and physical properties to an acceptable specification
– Identify material to the acceptable specification
These steps may be performed by the Certificate Holder or the Material Supplier
Continued
5f- Materials not listed in construction codes UG-10(b)
Allows the use of an UNLISTED material, provided it is identified, even though it is NOT
traceable to the original chemistry from the Material Manufacturer
– Must run physical and chemical analysis on each heat/lot number
– Compare results to an acceptable specification and identify material
Continued
5g- Materials not listed in construction codes UG-10(c)
Allows the use of these unlisted materials, that are unidentified, and are NOT traceable to the
original chemistry from the Material Manufacturer
– Must run physical and chemical analysis on each piece
– Compare results to an acceptable specification and identify material
To certify unidentified material for pressure part All other applicable requirements
(including, but not limited to, melting method, melting practice, deoxidation, chemical
analysis, mechanical properties, Grain size, and quality) of the specification shall be satisfied
If such verifiable evidence cannot be provided, recertification is not permitted.
