NOTIFICATIONS BY GOVERNMENT

CO-OPERATION, FOOD AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DEPARTMENT

Amendment to the Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation General and Staff Regulations, 1965.
[G.O. Ms. No. 87, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection (A2), 19th May 2008.]
No. SRO A-38/2008.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of Section 42 of the Warehousing
Corporation Act, 1962 (Central Act 58 of 1962), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the
Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department Notification No. SRO. A-25/2007, dated 12th March 2007, published
at pages 92-93 of Part III—Section 1(a) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated the 4th July, 2007.
AMENDMENT
In the said Notification in the preamble, for paragraph 2, the following paragraph shall be substituted namely :—
“2(a) All the amendments except amendment 4 hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on
the 16th August, 1999.
(b) The amendment 4 hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on the 20th February, 1997.”

HOME, PROHIBITION AND EXCISE DEPARTMENT

Amendments to the Indian-made Foreign Spirits (manufacture) Rules, 1981.
[G.O. Ms. No. 63, Home, Prohibition and Excise (III), 17th September 2008.]
No. SRO A-39/2008.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 54 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937
(Tamil Nadu Act X of 1937), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Tamil Nadu
Indian-made Foreign Spirits (Manufacture) Rules, 1981:—
AMENDMENTS
In the said Rules, in Rule 25,—
(i) for sub-rule (3-B) the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:—
"(3-B) No licensee shall manufacture any brand of Indian-made foreign spirits other than that specified in the
licence or enter into any collaboration with any person for the manufacture of Indian-made foreign spirits, without the previous
sanction of the Commissioner,"; and
(ii) sub-rule (3-C) shall be omitted.

LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT DEPARTMENT

Amendments to Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950.
[G.O. Ms. No. 109, Labour and Employment (M2), 10th September 2008.]
No. SRO A-40/2008.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 112 of the Factories Act, 1948 (Central Act LXIII of
1948), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950, the
draft of the same having been previously published as required by Section 115 of the said Act :—
AMENDMENTS
In the said Rules,—
(1) in rule 56-B,—
(a) in sub-rule (1), the expression of “Testing and Safety Division” shall be omitted;
(b) in sub-rule (3), for the expression “by a treasury receipt”, the expression “by a treasury receipt or by a crossed
demand draft drawn in any branch of a Nationalised Bank in favour of the respective Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories”
shall be substituted; and
(2) in Form No. 8-B, in item 4, for the expression “Treasury Challan No. and date”, the expression “Treasury Challan
Number and date or the Demand Draft Number, Bank Name, date” shall be substituted.
