ROSWELL, Ga. — Heads, you’re under arrest. Tails,
you’re free to go.
Body camera video shows Georgia police officers laugh-
ing as they use a coin-flip app to decide whether to detain a
woman during a traffic stop in April.
The video obtained by WXIA-TV shows Roswell police
Officer Courtney Brown asking Sarah Webb whether she knew
how fast she was going. Webb apologizes, saying she was
late for work, and Brown tells her to turn off the car and hand
over her keys.
Brown then returns to her car to consult with fellow officers
about whether to arrest Sarah Webb or just give her a ticket.
“What do you think?” one of the officers asks.
Brown says she didn’t record the actual speed at which Webb
had been driving. She then can be heard saying, “Hold on,” as
she opens a coin-flip app on her phone. Officer Kristee
Wilson suggests that heads should mean arrest and tails
should mean release. Brown agrees and flips the coin in the
app.
“This is tails, right?” Wilson asks.
“Yeah, so release?” Brown responds.
But then Wilson suggests a police code for arrest, and the
two can be heard laughing.

Over 130 people die in election violence ahead of Sharif’s return

for a provincial legislature. Four others died in a strike in
Pakistan’s northwest, spreading panic in the country.
The attacks came hours before Sharif returned from
London along with his daughter Maryam to face a 10-year
prison sentence on corruption charges, anti-corruption
officials said. Maryam Sharif faces seven years in jail.

his appeal would be filed but he has until Monday.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the
attack in a statement carried on its Aamaq news agency.
The group gave no reason for the bombing that killed
Raisani, who was running for the election on the
Baluchistan Awami Party ticket.
Raisani is the brother of the former Baluchistan chief
minister, Aslam Raisani. Caretaker Home Minister Agha
Umar Bungalzai told The Associated Press another 300 peo-
ple were wounded in Friday’s bombing.
The U.S. State Department in a statement strongly con-
demned this week’s attacks on political candidates and their
supporters in Pakistan.
“These attacks are cowardly attempts to deprive the
Pakistani people of their democratic rights,” it said. “We
will continue to stand with the people of Pakistan and the
broader South Asia region in their fight against terrorism.”
Meanwhile, Sharif arrived in the eastern city of Lahore
from London where he was visiting his ailing wife when a
Pakistani court convicted him and his daughter of corrup-
