1. Summary
• Rotary Club Jakarta Sentral at a Glance… [to be inserted]

The purpose of this proposal is to give you detailed information on one of our main
projects entitled “Fun English Class for Migrants”. Referring to one of our most challenging
migration problems faced by the global community which is Trafficking in Persons, with
increasing numbers of victims of trafficking are being identified globally, Rotary Club Jakarta
Sentral is committed to continuously support the efforts undertaken by any involved
Indonesian stakeholders in the awareness raising, counter-trafficking and any other related
activities aimed to decrease the numbers of Trafficking in Persons cases. Not limited to
Trafficking in Persons issues, this project is also aiming at addressing other cross-national
issues such statelessness, refugees, etc.

Pertaining to one of the very root causes of the Trafficking in Persons, which is the lack
of soft and hard skills encountered by every migrant worker such their limited English
Proficiency, this eventually lead them to be more vulnerable for the traffickers. Without being
able to read any documents or devices written in English, or even they cannot communicate
well with the involved agencies who speak different languages.

Assessing our available resources such time availability of the tutors, this class will be
held twice a week on Monday and Saturday. Accomodating different English capability of the
migrants, the Monday class is the beginner level class whilst the Saturday class is the advance
level class supported with each distinguished syllabus.

In regards to the aforementioned purpose, in supporting such project we are seeking

your favour support in a form of financial support as explained comprehensively in following
paragraph. Please refer to section V “Budget” on page 5 for the detailed anticipated budget
planning.

At last but not least, other information we deem pertinent for you to know is that this
project will benefit everyone of involved parties especially for Rotarians who believed that by
contributing ourselves in teaching the migrants, we are taking part in actualizing the

humanity values begin with this simplest step which can be actually expanded into other
