ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions Release Note
1101193-A

1. Introduction
This release note describes the initial release of the ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions identified as
part number 1101193, revision A (built from internal baseline 13.2.2). In particular, this note
describes:
• The functionality provided in this part number,
• Compatibility information,
• Special advice and known behaviour,
• Installation and upgrade procedure,
• The assurance activities that have been conducted to demonstrate that the product is fit for
release, and
• Related documentation.
Project managers and customers requiring a more detailed assessment of the advantages and
disadvantages of adopting 1101193-A for their specific projects should contact the SCADA Product
Support Manager (email: sps@invensys.com).

2. Functionality and Compatibility

This release is installed using a graphical Windows installation program. In most cases, other
components, such as specific RTU Software releases, are bundled in the same installation program.
The appropriate release notes for those components are also provided on the release media.

2.1 ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions Software

The ISaGRAF workbench extensions allow the user to compile an ISaGRAF project to create a
calculation file that can be loaded onto the I/A Series Remote Devices. These extensions consist of
definitions to facilitate the connection between the ISaGRAF project and the I/A Series Remote
Devices as well as a utility, accessed from within the ISaGRAF workbench, that generates the
calculation file. For full information on how to use the extensions refer to the IEC 61131-3
Programming and Runtime Environment User Manual (Document No 2005671).

2.2 Version Compatibility

The 1101193-A release is only compatible with the RTU software version 1101155-L and the
ISaGRAF Workbench version 3.xx (3.32 or higher, but lower than 4.00).

2.3 Superceded versions

The 1101193-A release supercedes all earlier versions of the ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions.

3. Changes Since Previous Release

3.1 New Functionality

Two new board definitions have been added to the product to allow the exchange of floating point
data between the ISaGRAF Workbench and the RTU software.
Function block definition files have been supplied which may be imported into the ISaGRAF
Workbench library to allow an ISaGRAF calculation to access the existing SALL gas calculations
(AGA3, AGA7 and NX19) on the RTU. For a complete description on how to import the definition files
into the ISaGRAF Workbench please read the readme file which is installed in the “isawin” directory
(normally c:\isawin).

5. Installation/Upgrade Instructions
The ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions must be installed onto a PC, which already has the ISaGRAF
Workbench installed, from the release CDROM. The release CDROM provides a graphical
installation wizard.

5.1 Installing ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions

NOTE: The previous version of the ISaGRAF Workbench Extensions must be uninstalled from the
PC before installing this version.
For most users, a short introductory menu will be displayed automatically when the release CDROM
is loaded into the engineer’s workstation. If this does not happen automatically, open the file
D:\menu.exe, where D is the drive letter of the CDROM drive.
The introductory menu contains links to the installation program for the RTU Software and Utilities,
and for several other related Foxboro products. Make sure the check box next to the ISaGRAF
Workbench Extensions is checked, then click Install to begin installation. Follow the on-screen
instructions to select the ISaGRAF installation directory.
All actions after this point are automatic and require no further interaction with the user. Once the
installation is complete all the board definitions and compile routines are installed in to the existing
ISaGRAF application. Please refer to the user manual for instructions on how to access and use
these extensions.

5.2 Configuring the Workstation

To ensure correct operation of the installed components, the installation program will automatically set
an environment variable. Windows 95, 98 and Millennium Edition users will need to restart Windows
for these changes to take effect.
Please consult your operating system’s manual for instructions on how to set environment variables.

6. Validation and Verification Statement

A variety of verification and validation activities have been conducted on the 1101193-A Extensions
prior to their release. The assurance strategy for 1101193-A consisted of 2 parts:
1. Design and Code Reviews
The design and source code were documented and reviewed by peer developers before
acceptance for system integration.
