1. Description of the International Business degree.

The international business degree appears from the need of the growing
business sector in Spain to extend his framework beyond the limits of the
national territory. Because of that need, the companies are trying to
internationalize. So the firms need specialists who work in this
internationalization process not only in the business sector but in the public
one.

This degree gives the students the necessary knoweledge and tools to
take economic, managerial and marketing decissions taking into account the
international repercussions. Also students aquire the abilities needed to
internationalize a firm, to work in the international institutions involved in
cooperation and transactions between the different countries.

The graduates in International business can work in varied contexts, not

only national but international. Firstly, they can manage international firms
(management, human ressources, financial, marketing...). Secondly, they can
work in public institutions, in areas like cooperation or promotion of comerce.
Also they can have consultancy and advice tasks at the public and private
sectors.

As we are going to explain, the languages and economic knoweledge are

stimulated the same way as mathematics (financial, stadistics...)

2. List of the 1st year courses.

As we have explained, during the degree, the students will acquire important
and useful knoweledges about the internationalization and the business sector.
So they have to be correctly preparated in different areas. Because of that, the
degree offers a variated selection of subjects like languages, strategic
management, stadistics, international marketing, cross-cultural management,
financial markets, comercial management, micro and macro economics etc.

There is the list of the 1st year courses, their nature and the credits they worth.

As we can see, the knoweledge acquired the 1st year is very basic.

3. Description of what a department is and their components.

A department is an area of the faculty (in this case, the Economy faculty) that
take care of a subject or subjects. Its formed by the lecturer or lecturers of this
course and the secretary's office.

The departments deal with the students and solve their doubts. It's the way to
put in contact the students with the teachers when there are no classes. Also,
they inform the students about the marks, the tutorials, the syllabus etc.

Its formed by the different teachers's offices, the secretary's office and a
staffroom which they can use to do the tutorials or to meet.

All the departments of the International business courses are in the Facultad de
economia, which is located at the right side of the "Campus dels Taronjers" in
front of the library.
