0 INTRODUCTION

Biodiversity is defined as the variety of life on the structure and function of the
genetic , population , community and ecosystem ( Sandlund , The escape and Brown 1992) .

Malaysia involved for global biodiversity conservation since 1992 through the
Convention on Biological Diversity ( CBD ) . As a teacher, I will organize Biodiversity
Universal Exhibition to emphasize the concept of biodiversity and the sustainability of their
nature.

This Biodiversity Exhibition organized on 6 – 8/11/2013 , in SJKC Naam Kheung’s


hall science project in conjunction with the topical form four Biodiversity .

The exhibition is open to students and parents with the aim to enhance public
awareness of the value of biodiversity and conservation, and research needs to improve the
lives of Malaysians.

In addition, the Share my knowledge to bring awareness to my students and their


parents. Guideline below is for my planning and organizing my exhibition .

1 ) With a suitable example, give the value of biodiversity to humans .

2 ) the government's efforts to keep the various biodiversity in Malaysia .

3 ) Explain how human activities lead to the extinction of species.

4 ) Predict what will happen to the biosphere through poor management of biodiversity.

5 ) Prepare the appropriate materials for the exhibition . PowerPoint example , concrete
materials , models, posters and other

The organization of this exhibition is a collaboration on teachers , science teachers ,
students and Biodiversity Institute . We are much grateful to the Institute of Biodiversity
because it gives a lot of information, concrete materials , models, posters and so on for us .
This has helped us to achieve Biodiversity Universal Exhibition .

Through this biodiversity exhibition, I hope that it can successful to wake up people
mind about the important and the useful of biodiversity for human, therefore human have to
love and protect it from the species extinction.

I happy that my students had learnt more about this topic from holding the exhibition.

They very co-operation in the process of handle this exhibition. They learn about the manner
to set up booth, to design the posters, to do power point for explanation, to do the animal and
plant model. Beside that, my student also learn about working in group and independent.

At this Biodiversity exhibition, we have 30 booth. 10 booth introduce about the


animalia kingdom, 10 booth introduce plantae kingdom and others 10 booth is explain about
microorgnism kingdom. There are 6 students incharge with 1 booth. So totally 180 students,
the whole form four student is involved with this Biodiversity Exhibition.

To encourage more people to visit this exhibition, we also provide a quiz contest and
prizes for the winning answer. With this, people can be reminded of information read from
the posters in the booth in the brain in the long run. This method has been successful in
attracting the attention of many people go visit and challenge themselves. This was evidenced
by the number of the public visited the exhibition, nearly 3,000 people during the 3-day
exhibition.

2.0 BIODIVERSITY & COMPONENTS

The variety of life on Earth, its biological diversity is commonly referred to as


biodiversity. The number of species of plants, animals, and microorganisms, the enormous
diversity of genes in these species, the different ecosystems on the planet, such as deserts,
rainforests and coral reefs are all part of a biologically diverse Earth. Appropriate
conservation and sustainable development strategies attempt to recognize this as being
integral to any approach. Almost all cultures have in some way or form recognized the
importance that nature, and its biological diversity has had upon them and the need to
maintain it. Yet, power, greed and politics have affected the precarious balance.
