Lesson  idea  implementation:        
 
With  the  information  that  the  students  bring  in  from  their  survey,  the  teacher  will  lead  a  discussion  on  which  
vacation  destination  was  more  desirable:  the  beach  or  the  mountains.  The  teacher  will  ask  some  of  the  pros  
and  cons  of  going  to  each  destination  and  write  them  on  an  anchor  chart.  Each  student  will  then  get  out  their  
math  journals  to  take  notes  in.    
 
The  teacher  will  then  be  responsible  for  collecting  the  data.  Going  through  each  student,  the  teacher  will  ask  
how  many  people  liked  the  beach  or  the  mountains  and  tally  them  on  the  board.  The  students  are  to  mimic  
what  the  teacher  is  writing  in  their  math  journals.  After  all  of  the  data  is  collected,  the  students  will  be  
instructed  to  create  their  own  graph.    
 
 
Importance  of  technology:    
 
Without  technology,  a  flipped  classroom  would  not  be  possible.  The  students  must  have  access  to  the  
classroom  blog  to  complete  the  flipped  classroom  activity.  If  a  student  is  known  to  not  have  a  technological  
device  at  home,  the  teacher  can  provide  that  student  with  the  transcript  of  the  flipped  classroom  
instructions.

Internet  Safety  and  Student  Privacy:      
 
The  students  and  parents  will  have  a  password  provided  by  the  teacher  to  access  the  classroom  website.  
Without  the  password,  there  is  no  way  to  connect  to  the  flipped  classroom.  The  parents  will  also  have  to  sign  
a  consent  form  for  the  students  to  access  the  internet,  if  needed,  during  the  instructional  time.    
 
Reflective  Practice:    
 
To  extend  the  lesson,  I  would  instruct  the  students  to  create  an  online  graph  and  present  them  to  the  class  for  
a  grade.
