National Labour Party Conference - Motion

Mental Health Motion from Irlam BLP and Cadishead BLP

“Irlam and Cadishead BLP propose a motion, to the Labour Party Annual
Conference 2018, to seek an amendment to Labour Party Policy on
Mental Health to include the recognition of Mental Health First Aiders in
the workplace.

Further to this, we ask the Labour Party Policy to recognise and

substantiate a requirement of equality for mental health in the workplace
by committing to amend the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981,
so that every organisation and workplace MUST have trained Mental
Health First Aiders, and to establish guidance for employers underlining
that their first aid obligations cover both physical and mental health
issues with absolute parity.”
