Yes Students expressed how they were feeling. There were
moments where students became emotional and had to
be excused from the circle.
No They were limited occurrences where other students
were interjecting when they did not have the talking
piece. Most of the moments were when students were
verbally trying to comfort their peer or agreeing with
what was being stated.

Yes I participated in the circle as well and modeled
appropriate behavior for a restorative circle.
Yes All students were aware of the news of the school
closure either by the news last night, the radio, or from
word of mouth. I confirmed its factuality and we began

Yes I ended this restorative circle with a question that would
easily lead me into my lesson on advocacy. This
question opened up student’s thinking and thought
process. I wanted to shift the mood of the conversation
from disappointment to purposefulness.
