There is so much rain here in Ireland that most people who complain about it
don’t even wonder how bad it would be if it didn’t rain. Well, this is what I
think might happen.
The ground would go dry and Ireland would look really boring. No plants
would grow and there would be nothing for humans or animals to eat except
dry mud and dry, ugly, wrinkly creatures that tasted like old socks that had
fungus on it. There would be absolutely nothing to drink.

There would be no swimming pools and all the lakes would dry out and all
the fish would die. People wouldn’t have any showers and when you walked
down the street people would hold there noses and run away from you
because you smelt so bad. There would be no toilets, so people would
simply do their business on the street. Gross. Every where and everything
would stink. Everyones teeth would soon look like cracked old gravestones
because no one could brush their teeth.

Then the ground would get angry because it was dry and it would start
rumbling and making loud noises.

Then, the army would come and use their cloud busters to shoot at the
clouds to make them let the rain go. The clouds would get angry and try to
blow the army away but the army would be too strong. They would keep
shooting at the clouds. The sun would feel sorry for Ireland and would shine
as brightly as it could. Women and children would start rain dancing. Rain
dancing is a dance people do to get rain to fall. But, the clouds wouldn’t let
the rain go. The people would have started crying and wishing that the rain
would come. Soon the clouds would have let the rain go and every body
would rejoice.
The clouds would have told the people that they held the rain on purpose,
because the people kept complaining about the rain so the people shouldn’t
complain or that could happen again.

So, the rain isn’t that bad, because that’s what keeps us alive and makes
every where look fresh and green
