Greetings!

The K to 12 Transition Program of the Department of Education has already started which
resulted to the decrease of enrollment in our institution starting School Year 2016-2017. In line with this
scenario, the Commission on Higher Education encourages the Faculty and Staff of every higher
educational institution to avail scholarship and other grants for professional development in preparation
for the said transition. One of those grants is the CHED Scholarship for Graduate Studies- Local (SGS).

In connection to this, may I express my intention to apply and to be recommended by our

institution to avail the said scholarship grant to elevate my educational qualification? I am much willing
and eager to avail the said program in preparation for the K to 12 transitions with the following
objectives:

1) To help contribute to the attainment of the regional priorities in the field of business and
accountancy;
2) To contribute to the achievement of the university’s mission, vision, goals and objective
towards national competence in the field of research development;
3) To help in producing quality graduates to be globally competent, innovative, and socially
and ethically responsible educators engaged in the life-long learning endeavors;
4) To help the university achieve in becoming a research university generating scientific
knowledge conducting social sciences researches which has significant impact to society,
and
5) To contribute to the university’s goals in promoting sustainable development and
empower stakeholders towards inclusive growth.

As of today, the country has few quality programs and/or experts which the higher educational
institution needs to develop in able to achieve national development in the priority areas of the country
and the region. One of its national priorities is in the field of Business and Accountancy that fall under the
consciousness priority area of the country and the region. The country remains behind ASEAN neighbors
in terms of faculty educational qualification by 69 percent compared to Malaysia. Upgrading of faculty
educational qualifications would help the country to achieve national development, stipulated in the
Higher Educational Reform Agenda (HERA).

It is expected that after completion of the degree program, the university will increase its
percentage in terms of faculty development that will help the country’s attainment to the national
competence goals through contribution to the accelerating infrastructure development in social sciences
discipline in the Philippine Development Plan.

With these, I am determined and eager to finish my master’s degree in a delivering higher
educational institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education to learn and earn expertise,
knowledge and experience that I can share to our students to prepare them to be globally competitive and
innovative graduates of the university in line with the vision of the university “to be a progressive
learner-centered research university recognized in the ASEAN region in 2020”.

Moreover, we are very thankful of the strategic plan of the university in term of faculty
development which is one of the 7-point agenda of the administration, I SERVE U which V = Vigorous
Faculty and Staff Development Program Through Massive Trainings and Scholarships for Advanced
Degrees.

Accompanied by this letter are my requirements stated in the CMO 3 s 2016 issued by CHED for
your reference, as follows:

Photocopy of Diploma
Photocopy of PSA/NSO Birth Certificate
 Original Medical Certification (prescribe format) and photocopy of medical result
