1.0 INTRODUCTION
The CPS Gas Release Control Panel is designed & fabricated to comply the
Malaysian Standard MS1745 – Part 2 : 2004 (equivalent to European Standard EN54-
2 : 1997). This is a multi-zone fully transistorized automatic fire detection system. It
is housed in a signal red coloured mild steel panel. The panel housing can be
fabricated based on different IP Standard to suit special requirement.
The alarm indication is both audible (bell ringing) and visible (Zone Fire red LED
indicators flashing). Fault and other indications are also both audible (buzzer beeps)
and visible (LED indicators ON), except the Disablements are indicating visibly only.
The standard models for the CPS Gas Release Control Panel are
i). MG-0200 (2 Zone Gas Release Control Panel-Normal Type);
ii). MG-0200/W (2 Zone Gas Release Control Panel-Weatherproof Type);
The CPS Gas Release Control Panel possesses the following features:
i). the control circuit with double lock system, ie., the output activated only if both
tie up zones are in alarm condition;
ii). the time delayed output to release / discharge the gas only after the pre-set delay
period of 28-32 seconds.
iii). the Gas Release Keyswitch contact input to immediately release the gas
regardless the status of both tie up zones.
iv). the Abort Switch contact input to stop the gas release process (prior to the
gas discharge started) by press & hold the switch. The gas release
process will be re-activated 8-10 seconds later after the switch has been released.
2.0 OPERATION
Normal Condition
Set all the toggle switches in zoning to Normal (NOR) position. Switch on Mains
Supply and connect the standby battery. On normal condition, only two green LED
indicators are ON, ie. “MAINS ON” and “CHARGER ON”. All other LED indicators
should be OFF.
Alarm Condition
When a sensor or detector of any zone detects a hazard, both the particular Zone Fire
red LED indicators will flash, General Fire red LED indicator will ON, Master Bell
rings, pre-defined bells & outputs will be activated accordingly based on the pre-
defined alarm mapping. All the audible, visible & output activation remain if the
hazard and the Gas Release Control Panel are not attended to.
(ii) Check and inspect the hazard zone and clear the hazard immediately.
(iii) Fight the hazard by means which you can and available (eg. Fire extinguisher
or hose reel).
(iv) After the hazard has been cleared and the sensing device replaced or reset, set
the toggle switch back to Normal (NOR) position. Reset the Gas Release
Control Panel to normalize the system by depressing the Alarm Reset Button
(ALARM RESET).
IMPORTANT NOTES
(i) If the hazard is not cleared or the sensor is not replaced or reset, the Zone & General
Fire LED indicators cannot be reset, Master Bell & other pre-defined output devices
will be re-activated even though the toggle switch is set to Normal (NOR) position.
(iii) By activating the Gas Release Keyswitch, the gas will immediately discharge even
though the system did not detect any alarm.
(iv) By activating the “GAS ISOLATE” Switch (prior the release of gas started), the gas
will not be discharged even though the system enters the discharge mode.
(v) By press & hold the externally installed Abort Switch, the release of gas will be
Temporary hold even though after the delay of 28-32 seconds. The discharge
action will continue back 8-10 seconds later after the switch has been released.
(vi) If the gas has been discharged, DO NOT enter the gas released room
WITHOUT equipped with proper breathing apparatus.

release process will be re-activated 8-10 seconds
later after the release of this switch
Notes : a). Chassis Colour / Material might varies to suit the standard & requirement
specified by the relevant authority.
b). Cable requirements :
i). Zone / Contact Point – 2 cores x 1.5mm square cable
ii). Bell / Output / Actuate / Tripping Point – 2 cores x 2.5mm square cable
MAINS ON / = When the “MAINS ON” Switch is ON, the green LED
CHARGER ON indicator for “MAINS ON” will light up to indicate the
AC Mains is supplied to the system. The green Led
indicator for “CHARGER ON” will ON to indicate the
charger circuitry work, the Led indicator OFF if there is
no charger output. These 2 LED indicators will OFF
during the failure of AC supply.
TEST LED = By switch ON the “TEST LED ON” Switch, all the
LED indicators for Main Control & Zoning Facial will
ON and buzzer beeps. All LED indicators will restore
back to previous state by turn OFF this switch.
FIRE (General) = General Fire red LED indicator ON whenever any zone
in alarm condition either activated from field or
manually by Test Zone Alarm Switch (T/A). This
indicator can only OFF by system reset.
DISABLE = The two Zone Disable LED indicators for any zone
will light up when the toggle switch is set to Disable
(DIS) position for that particular zone. All the outputs
previously triggered by this alarm zone will then be
turned off. If the zone was previously in Zone Fault
condition, the buzzer sound triggered by this zone
fault will also be silenced once it had been disabled.
TEST FAULT (T/F) = When the black coloured non-latched (T/F) push-
button for any zone is depressed, it simulates an open
circuit on the detector line for that particular zone.
The system will response & acting exactly as “Zone
Fault”. The “Zone Fault” will automatically clear
when the “T/F” push-button is released.
TEST ALARM (T/A) = Alarm condition can be tested from the panel by
depressing the red coloured (T/A) push-button & hold
for a short moment. The system will response & acting
exactly as “Zone Fire”. The Zone Fire LED indicators
will flash and it will remain flashing until the system is
reset by pushing the “ALARM RESET” switch.
Note : When doing Test Alarm , unless permission has been given, always
isolate the Gas Release Switch before activate any alarm to avoid
accidentally discharging the gas.
Disable (DIS) = When zoning switch is set to Disable (DIS) position, the
Zone Disable LED indicators will ON indicating that
particular zone is being disabled so that the alarm
condition cannot be initiated from that zone’s sensors.
The power supply unit is operated on an 240Vac, 50 Hz, Single Phase mains
supply. It delivers
