environmental parameters that need to be monitored during Operations and after
closure of landfill.

(b) Explain the dominant factors that influence the composting process.
(c) Differentiate between London Smog and Los Angeles Smog? Why Los-Angeles
smog is termed as Photochemical Smog?
4. (a) What are the physico-chemical parameters/constituents that define the quality of (15)
wastewater? Explain the function of any two operational units of wastewater [5+5+5]
treatment plant that facilitate reducing the solids and organic load?
(b) If 1000 mg/L glucose (C6H1206) is completely oxidized to CO2 and H20, find out
the amount of 02 required (in mg/L) for completing the reaction.
(c) How does the total moisture content affect the overall management of solid waste?
