Board held on 19-12-2011 - communicated - Regarding.

The Meeting of the Board of Studies in Pharmacy was held held on 05-12-11
and recommended various matters in the Curriculum, Regulation etc., The above
recommendation of the Board of Studies in Pharmacy were approved in the 43rd
meeting of the Standing Academic Board held on 19-12-2011 and are hereby
communicated to take necessary further follow up action thereon.

1.TO FRAME THE ELIGIBLE CRITERIA FOR APPOINTMENT OF


INTERNAL/EXTERNAL EXAMINERS FOR B.PHARM/M.PHARM/PHARM.D
DEGREE COURSES.

The members have resolved as follows with regard to Eligible criteria for
appointment of internal/external examiners :

2. TO MODIFY THE SYLLABUS FOR B.PHARM (LATERAL ENTRY) IN


IIND YEAR DEGREE COURSE.

With regard to modifying the syllabus for B.Pharm (Lateral entry) in the II Year
Degree course the board resolved that since the subject Bio-Statistics is already
being taught under Pharmocology in the Final Year there is no need to bring it as
separate paper.

3.TO CONSIDER WHETHER D.PHARM OF ONE YEAR AND TWO YEARS


COURSE ARE ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION TO B.PHARM(LATERAL ENTRY)
COURSE AS APPROVED BY THE TAMILNADU PHARMACY COUNCIL 'S
DECISION.
It is ascertained during the meeting that as per Pharmacy Council of India all
D.Pharm holders are eligible for admission to B.Pharm lateral entry.

4. TO CONSIDER FOR THE MODIFICATION OF SYLLABUS OF


B.PHARM DEGREE COURSE UNDER THE REGULATION 2009-10.

With regard to modification of syllabus of B.Pharm Degree Course of


regulation 2009-2010. The board felt that there is no need at present and this can
taken into consideration later.

5. TO IMPLEMENT FOR AWARDING OF MARKS TO THE DISSERTATION


UNIFORMLY FOR ALL PG COURSES UNDER ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES.

The board resolved to implement the uniformity in awarding dissertation


mark. (i.e 50% aggregate marks for a minimum pass and Pass/ Fail).

6. TO INFORM THE COMMENCEMENT OF EXAMINATION DATES


FOR THE TWO CUT OFF DATES FIXED FOR PG IN ALLIED HEALTH
SCIENCES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-12 AND IN FUTURE.

RESOLVED TO APPROVE the recommendations of the expert


committee regarding two cut off dates fixed for P.G. in Allied Health Sciences as
detailed below:

For the candidates admitted in the academic year 2011-12 alone, who were
admitted upto 30th June 2011 the examination will be conducted from 15th May 2012,
and for candidates admitted upto 31st October 2011 the Examination will be
conducted from 15th November 2012.

Any other items:-

1. Modification in the regulation on carry over subject of III Year :

In the existing regulation the (2009-2010) III year B.Pharm students are
allowed to carry over two subjects to their final year and they are not allowed to
write the final year examination with the third year carryover subjects. However, the
board has resolved to allowed to the candidates to write the carry over two subjects
in the IIIrd year along with the final year examination. This will be come into force
from Aug'2012 examinations.

2.Modifications requested for a portion of minutes of the 42nd SAB agenda


No. 10: “ To decide on 10+2 from National Open School qualification and pre-
university examinations (new scheme) of Andhra University are not eligible for
admission to B.Pharm course as per the Pharmacy Council of India’s decision”.

“Resolved that candidates who have passed Diploma course under pre-
university examination (New scheme) of Andhra University with Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry with Biology are not eligible to join
B.Pharmacy Degree course conducted by this university.

The board has resolved to consider total marks of section a & b for calculating
the minimum pass mark wherever the B.Pharm subject is divided as section a & b.

The above decisions are communicated for information and to take necessary
action. The Principals are also requested to circulate the above matters among the
Professors/Head of the Department/Students of their college and also to display it in
the College Notice Board and the Department Notice Board for information of the
student.
