Project Fellow (One)


University Grants Commission has approved financial assistance to Special Centre for
Molecular Medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru University under Special Assistance Programme
(SAP, DRS-II).

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary positions under UGC-Special
Assistance Programme (UGC-SAP, DRS-II) at Special Centre for Molecular Medicine,
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

The consolidated salary of the appointed Project Fellows will be Rs. 14,000/- + HRA per
month as per the rules & regulations of the UGC-SAP scheme, applicable. The initial
appointment will be for one year and will be annually extended based on satisfactory
performance of the fellow.

Essential Qualifications:

· Second class Masters Degree or equivalent with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of
SC/ST/PH) in biological sciences.
· Knowledge of basic instruments commonly used in biological research and computer
application is desirable.
· The candidate should be below the age of 40 years at the time of appointment.

entitled “A novel approach to study the genomic and functional effect of
Bisbenzimidazole: in accordance to develop Broad-spectrum Antibacterial agent”.

1. Junior Research Fellow (One) Rs.25000/- + 30% HRA

Essential Qualification

•Masters degreein Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Bioinformatics/Biophysics/with


strongacademicrecord. The student qualified NET LS/GATE will be given preference.

Desirable Qualification
 The student should have an experience in protein expression,purification, cloning,
DNA, RNA isolation, PCR, DNA sequencing, Western Blotting, Spectroscopy,
Fluorescence Microscopy and Bioinformatics.
 The candidate should have research experience with pathogenic bacterial strain and
animal handling.

 Preference would be given to candidates with expertise in Bioinformatics and Next


generation sequencing/Proteomics data analysis.

The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis, initially for a period of
one year or till his/her services are required by the Project Director or till the validity of the
project, whichever is earliest.
