2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority is in the process of upgrading its network infrastructure in line with
the growing requirements for capacity on the existing platform. In line with this there is a requirement
to procure active equipment including Network switches.
Africom has been in the ICT industry for over seventeen (17) years, focusing mainly on installation and
maintenance of network infrastructure, evolving to developing and maintaining a public data network
and most recently deploying a fully-fledged converged communication network. Our strength in the area
of installing and maintaining networking infrastructure has over the years been cemented and we are
fully capable of performing the following tasks:
 Supply and installation of structured cabling equipment for LANs.

 Supply and installation of active equipment and accessories for both LANs and WANs
 Testing of all installed network equipment; and
 Installation and configuration of all networking equipment according to the network design
 Proper segmentation of the network using virtual Area Networks (VLANs)
 Network cabling using optical fiber and copper
 Installation of network and management tools to aid in network support.
 Provide after installation support and maintenance of the network to ensure minimum
disruptions to Bank operations
 Provide training and knowledge transfer to the Bank for first line support of the installed
network.
Africom has partnered with a Cisco Select Partner called Router-Switch
Africom has been working with CISCO hardware for over ten (10) years and had met the standards
for service and support.

Today’s network infrastructure is the backbone on which the majority of all technology systems within
an organization rely. A small issue with a network infrastructure could have a significant impact on
business continuity. For the success of the project, Africom’s solution pays attention to the following:
